Although the close result gave us all heart flutters, it is a great tune up for the GF.
Nick Daicos will be far better after the hit out- I was pleased with our defence which, I thought during the week would win us the game...
Cox has become a very strong force in the hit outs and Cameron clunked a few grabs- certainly his best game since his early season injury.
McStay looks like being out and the replacement will largely depend on who we play. We know that Johnson is injured, McInnes is unlikely and I would be amazed if 'Kamikaze' Kreuger was selected...
Adams (if fit) surely comes in, but Noble's run might be considered.
Would not be surprised if Ginnivan goes into the 22 and Macrae is the sub...
Interesting week ahead- would be sweet to end it with number 16 _________________ Firm in the belief that number 17 flag is only months away... |

That's just the kind of win we needed. 100 minutes of pressure was needed to win and the boys delivered.
I hope Dan's okay.
More later. _________________ We've all heard that a million monkeys banging on a million typewriters will eventually reproduce the entire works of Shakespeare. Now, thanks to the Internet, we know this is not true. |

Sidey was the hero for me. He was everywhere, particularly early, and that match saving mark on the goal line saved the game. What a phucking legend! |

BOG I reckon. Might be the best game I’ve ever seen him play. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Not one to sit back and complain about umpiring, especially after a win, but that was atrociously bad…apparently only Giants have a back…so many blatant PITB they were allowed to get away with….not to mention the thousand incorrect disposals not called…tried their best to get GWS into a GF.
Anyway, we’re there….GO PIES!!!!!!!!!!! |
Yes - how many times Taylor pushed McStay in the back - been taking lessons from Hawkins. _________________ If you used to barrack for the 'Pies, you never barracked for the 'Pies. |

Key moments - Markov intercepting and sending it back forward. Sidey marking a certain Toby goal. Mason's last qtr goal, and everything de Goey did all through the game.
GWS complaining about an alleged around the neck to Toby but, as I pointed out, the umpires applied the Ginnivan rule so nothing to see.
I wish either Noble had Lipinski's height or Lipinski had Noble's courage and heart. Can't see Lipinski ever getting seriously hurt by putting it all on the line. _________________ If you used to barrack for the 'Pies, you never barracked for the 'Pies. |

Giants would have beaten anyone else on the night. Their ability to win the ball back and clear it from our own F50 was the best I’d seen this season.
I don’t quite know where we won it but the Cox, DeGoey combination had a very big say in how the eventual result unfolded. |

Changes for the grannie.
Lipa goes out and Adams cones in.
McStay out for either Billy framton or kreugar
I feel we need a big guy down forward.
Without an extra big guy we look far far too small down forward. |

Cox showed once again why he was retained and Grundy was let go.
Grundy's ruck work was to tap it at his feet and he didn't take enough marks or kick enough goals. Melbourne has now realised the same. He was OK but I think he lost it when he got the big $$ contract. Not saying it was conscious but some players just lose their hunger when they're well fed. _________________ If you used to barrack for the 'Pies, you never barracked for the 'Pies. |

I'm hoping that run tonight was just what the Pies needed to sharpen up for next week's game against whoever. _________________ If you used to barrack for the 'Pies, you never barracked for the 'Pies. |

I actually wondered if we played too tall up there tonight – there wasn’t much space for Mihocek or Elliott to move, and players got in each other’s way a bit. Frampton for McStay (with or without Howe switching forward) makes intuitive sense, but I’d be more tempted to move Ginni into the 22 and bring Noble in as sub. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Hello fellow Victorians, I’m up in Sydney, just got back to my Hotel, youse must've been shitting your dacks, unlike my beloved Panthers cruising to such a beautiful victory, stress & bruise free footy.
Any reports or injuries please, haven’t watched the game yet, but did hear snippets, have a good week all. _________________ WE WERE ROBBED, RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME, RIGHT IN FRONT OF MEEE!
