I'm not sure a lot of people understand just what a GREAT win this was. Already missing Howe, Elliott, Mitchell, Mihocek and McCreery from our side, we then lost 2 marking forwards in McInnes and WHE during the game.

To hang on and win such a tight contest against such a good team is a testament to our fighting spirit. I actually think we should have been 4 or 5 goals up at quarter time, given our centre clearance and forward 50 dominance.

This game was won by our stars - Naicos, Pendles, Crisp, JDG and Jaicos - as well as Johnny Noble. Our newbies all contributed in moments, especially Harrison, Sullivan and Richards. I'm still not sold on Macrae or McInnes, but they also did a bit.

Without sounding too critical, my disappointment all year has been the form of Cox. For a 7 ft player, I can only recall him taking one mark for the game. Hopefully he can improve as the season progresses.

Overall, I'm very happy with this win.

^ Good point about Cox. He is playing with complacency and genuine vagueness. His inability to present a viable lead when we are 75m from goal often out of position, looking in the wrong direction and clueless. Benefiting from a long injury list.

* Markov: 8 possessions is going nowhere slowly
* Hill: another sub 10 possession, 1 goal game needs to lead and lift
* Frampton: looks a liability at times with his fumbling

I guess it's a legacy of injuries and depth being tested.

I agree with you. That was a tough game with the outs we have.

6 day break, reduced bench second week in a row, missing some key players, and the boys did well to win this. Gutsy effort.

Three games for Lache Sullivan & two for Joe Richards

They have slotted in beautifully

Can someone tell me why some are predicting JDG will miss a game?

Do we agree we have a next man up philosophy like who cares we have injuries for sure but it’s the Ins that matters and like who’s out then it’s next man up and next man up all the time
I think we have that
Along with getting the job done
Don’t forget we were 35 points up at some stage
Was hoping for a 47 point win
Was 4 instead

Great to get the 4 points with the amount of injuries that we have.
Naicos and Pendlebury were fantastic as usual but I was also very impressed with Cameron, Frampton and Crisp.
Crispy seems a better option in the centre than JDG.

I agree with many others regarding Coxy. His positioning is poor which imho restricts his ability to properly compete.
I would like to see Krueger given a chance in place of Cox to see if he can provide a better down the line option.

Umpiring up until the last 10 minutes was quite good I thought which enabled the game to flow more freely. Yes they could’ve paid a few more free kicks but I’d rather they paid less than more as long as it is consistent.

Onto Perth next week to beat Freo.

Go Pies!!!

Delayed concussion from landing heavily. They're just guessing/hoping. He's got a scone like a bull, anyway!

What a massive win with so many players out and a very makeshift forward line, as Rude said somewhere above. Incredibly gutsy and determined once again.

Fox Footy measured how far the Adelaide player ran at the end.

24.2 metres… limit is 15m.

Just showed our pressure rating for the last quarter. 131
That's one of the lowest on record. Are we even trying?

Pressure rating of 131. No team wins football matches with that lack of effort.

It's sport 101, don't throw the toys because your opponent plays to the best of their ability.

So we can't attack others but you can attack me. Yeah that sounds fair Laurie!

If you think a pressure rating of 131 is acceptable you need to go back to school. But I said it was a meritorious win. But that we had a few too many passengers today. We are well and truly entrenched in the eight now, but the injury toll is going to make it hard. Let's all just hope that DeGoey is okay and the reports aren't true about delayed concussion.

Unless it's a kick in. Then you can run 30m....... apparently.
