The really nice thing about St Vomit is that we screwed the pooch big-time in the second half of GF1. We got - no two ways about it - we got the colliwobbles and our boys choked. This let a much less powerful team get very close to us and push it to a draw. How is this nice?
Because it leaves St Vomit thinking that they are one bounce of the ball away from being premiers, thinking that they have a premiership-standard list. You can see it everywhere you look. Their feral supporters say it constantly. And their brains-trust believe it too - look at their absurd recruiting!
Because they honestly believe that they are a powerhouse club every bit as good as any other club, they refuse to cut the deadwood out of their club, they refuse to face up to the cold hard facts about their forward line (i.e., that they don't have one), and they recruit "top-up" duds that failed at other clubs instead of trying to find good kids and bring them on.
I love it.
