He was good this week and he was good last week. The guy's a tackling machine and can get the ball out of congestion in a split-second. See, for instance, the two pure opportunist goals he kicked in the past fortnight (one of them in the last quarter against the Crows, another in the goalsquare against North) – few others would have had the composure or quick thinking to manage that. I'm convinced that his baggers only ever see his mistakes and just ignore all the good things he does.

He has 9 goals from 10 matches in 2017. Definite superstar.

Nobody's saying he is. He plays a role, which is all he's being asked to do. Plus, he gives you armchair baggers a scapegoat, so he's contributing in more ways than one.

Exactly.

I really can't understand it. Do the negative posters think we will suddenly fly up the ladder if Blair retires? Do they really think a kid can last the game, kick the goals he did, and do the grunt tackle work?

Since he came back into the side a month ago

Average
Disposals - 12
Marks - 2.5
Tackels - 5
Goals - 1.5

Is that ok?

Wow, you're really going out of your way to skew his stats don't satisfy your own inane argument. Think the people of "Nick's" have spoken about the "Curious Case of Jarryd Blair" at the Carringbush!

Are you for real? Skew the stats? Confused , nope, that's what they are, totally unskewed.

You're the muppet that gave us all these guarantees 2 weeks ago;

Posted: Sat Jul 29, 2017 6:47 pm by inxs88

I can guarantee the following shall happen tomorrow:

1. He shall get between 1-3 kicks
2. He shall try and handball to impossible situations 6-10 times
3. He shall lead up 4-6 times thinking he is a key forward target
4. He shall fumble 3-6 times within goal range
5. He shall fall over when in a contested one on one 80% of the time
6. He shall run around and bark instructions at younger players whilst failing to follow said instructions himself
7. He shall jag a lucky goal from somewhere, somehow and some way not by his own creative abilities
8. Said goal shall keep him in for the Roos game

When, in actual fact he has;

1 - had 28 disposals
2 - taken 5 marks
3 - laid 10 tackles
4 - kicked 5 goals

And been named among the best players.

Your guarantees aren't worth the dribble they're written in Wink

It defies any logic that he is being played ahead of a young up and comer.

But I'm sure Bucks would say "It's the intangibles"....

Intangible--a word that explains little

But wins and loss,s well they are tangible

Normally I'm leading the queue to lay the boots in. And again.
However...[whuh?!], we all knew that he had to be selected this week, due to his scoreboard contribution against the Road Kill that was North Melbourne. Fair enough.

I've seen him play worse games than yesterday, and those limited possession he did get I think hit their targets close to our F50.
He also got one maybe two dud umpiring decisions against him.

Don't be surprised if he suits up again next week. And the one after.
It doesn't matter - Buckley's funeral; not ours.

Intangibles is a euphemism for "can't find the ball" just like best clubman is also "great bloke but can't play great"

Well he did slip that tackle [he had to manage one eventually], and released that handball to Reid who farmed it off to Broomhead for our only goal of the 2nd term.

Other than that, ummm....

As the VFL well is apparently dry [Kirby says hi!], then chances are he will get a farewell game next week, and a nice gold watch.

Which he won't be getting under Roos....
