Essendon currently have two picks in round 2. One in round 3. And two in round 4.
If they really want Sier, they have the right pick. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

He's never struck me as someone who wants it enough and seems like he's happy to just be there and go through the motions. His off field misdemeanours certainly justify that. Has the build and all the potential but can't/won't get the most out of himself. In and out of rehab all the time. There's hundreds of guys who'd kill to have the chance he's got. Maybe I'm being too harsh, I don't know but he needs to figure out soon whether or not footy is his main priority. |

2019: 6 games, lots of injuries
Off-Field:
2018: $5,000 suspended fine in March 2018 after gambling breaches on AFL matches in 2017.
2019: Basketball "Phil Inn" substitute despite being in recovery for a chronic calf injury. Yet to be selected since nor even named an emergency. Commits such a breach just as he was about to be handed a 2 year contract!

His lack of fitness was a significant reason we lost the grand final. We must have been at different games (as usual, the nuance is important).
At one point, he couldn’t even run to the bench he was so out on his feet in the third. In the fourth he was playing right near the bench so he could get off the ground quicker. We were only 17 players when he was on the field in the last 45 minutes of the grand final. It’s why the overran is.
Not great at all. Very costly I’d say. And it’s probably the reason Buckley insisted he would only play this year of fit. _________________ Ohhh, the Premiership's a cakewalk ....... |

Okay so Sier is the reason the Pies lost the Grand Final. No other? Not Langdon's brain farts:
* at end of first quarter failing to rush that point that created the Eagles first goal OR
* kicking it into the back of the player in front of MCC members thus creating a costly turnover.

No, there were 22 reasons Collingwood lost the Grand Final. Sier was one of them. |

The umpire who ignored the block on Maynard cost us the GF. |

I think the general consensus is that Sier has the ability but not the fitness.
One is a gift, the other is hard work. |

His attitude/demeanour reminds me of another player that needed a fair old kick in the rear end to get going.
2001 - drafted in the 4th round pick #58
2002 - no games
2003 - 3 games, average 9 disposals - no goals
2004 - 13 games, average tick over 13 disposals - 2 goals for the season
2005 - 14 games, average tick under 17 disposals - 3 goals for the season
Thanks goodness we didn't give up on him, became one of the greatest players ever for Collingwood _________________ Manassa is on the 50m, fakes the handball. He's going to shoot for goal, and he's put it through! HE'S PUT IT THROUGH. By golly what an individual effort. Thats got to be the GOAL OF THE CENTURY. |

Difference is Swannie had a more serious sliding door moment (assault charges, possible jail). Sier played suburban basketball for 10 minutes. Different types of kicks up the bum. As far as Sier's concerned, he can always get traded to Essendon, so no biggie. |

Followed him for a few months over the last pre season….
Unfollowed him early Feb. Was NOT impressed with his lack of professionalism.
When 9/10 pics have you holding a beer, i don’t like the chances of you having a productive and rewarding season.
Was actually very disappointed that the club re-signed him. _________________ - Side By Side - |

Went and had a peak... Seems he's gone to Germany with Mihocek in his offseason but is back and went to the races today.
Cant see anything that damning. Looks like he loves his dog and his mates/family.
Anything with him holding alcohol, although not the best look, is during the AFL off season. I dont think there's anything there that suggests he is an irresponsible drinker or anything like that. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |
