My Doctor offered to put me on Champix, but if I can't mentally quit and a drug can do it for me, then I'd be concerned about this "wonder" drug. I smoke American Spirit 100% additive free natural tobacco. A pack of 20 will cost $10.25 at selective tobacco retail'ers. Withdrawal is easier but much more pleasurable to smoke..

one other thing, a friend was diagnosed with cancer earlier that year which then precipitated my decision to quit smoking even though the cancer was unrelated to smoking.

american spirit - presumably there is a notcieable difference in taste?

Years ago my father-in-law had a pin (or similar) put into his ear to suppress the urge to smoke.
Has not smoked since.

I gave up within a week using Zyban. I had a strange reaction too - my vision became really blurred - I had real difficulties at work so lucky it only took a week.

I've had around 10 smokes today and hated every one of them, as opposed to about 30 to 35 by this time. Upped the ante on dosage tonight and cigarettes are the furthest thing from my mind. Feeling positive about my give up date tomorrow. Been down this road that many times, I'm determined to do it once and for all. Tomorrow is my 1990! Smile

I just hope that doesn't mean I'll lapse back after a year or so and continue choofing for another 18 yrs with two more failed attempts? Shocked Sad

ok, ok, think positive franki!

Deep breaths...

easy does it...

ahhhhh...

that's better...

now...

where'd I put my smokes? Doh!

That is a huge cut down frankiboy, every smoke you don't have must be doing you well!

^^Franki, have you got a forecast diet plan? Biggest problem is binge eating when giving away the drugs...

Not really, EBB. I'm aware of the eating thing but sugarfree chewing gum and extra activities should help keep my mind off it. I've taken the rest of the week off to concentrate on finishing off the house and break up my regular routine. Btw, lit up a smoke this morning, took 3 puffs then threw it out! Very Happy I have a pack with 4 left in it. I'll keep them to see how well I can hold off

throw them away, throw away your ashtrays, lighters and anything else. have a drink of water if you get an urge.
