Turned it off. Zero effort. No need to watch. Hoping preseason form is fake form.

For Chrissakes its a bloody practice game, FFS, its nothing, injury is my only concern, I recall one yr, the Blues won all the practice games, and the then NAB Cup, and ended up with the wooden spoon that year. ! Chill out.

Darcy Cameron and Mark Keane dominated their positions last week:

They both get dropped. Staggering

Keane looked like he might be a player in 6 months. Cameron looked as slow as a coach. It didn't surprise me that they were dropped.

The pre-season is about getting minutes of game-time into the legs of your preferred starters. It isn't about winning or losing. If Cameron or Keane look decent in the twos, they'll get their chance.

However St Kilda just got 4 premiership points & we didn't. OMG the sky is falling in.

I wouldn’t be so confident, wpt. I’ve looked up the stats and can say with certainty that no team has ever won a Grand Final by more than 150 points after losing a preseason game to St Kilda in Morwell. That result was the kiss of death for 2020. How long until the next Test starts?

There are those that long for the days of a return to suburban football but today only reinforced why I've never been one of them.

Honestly without the ability to view the game from an elevated position in a modern stadium or indeed remain home and see the action televised play by play I don't have much to offer in the way of analysis as who knows what's clearly going on unless the ball happens to be in your corner of the oval.

A few basic observations were Howe looked in good touch as did many of the defensive line, Elliott looked to be covering the ground well and de Goey was a powerful presence whenever the ball was in his vicinity.

On the downside our lack of an A grade tall forward target in comparison to the other top contenders for the flag continues to be a real hindrance.

Overall I wouldn't be reading to much into this game just as the case was last week in the win.

Grundy looked to be playing well within himself and with Pendlebury (36%TOG), Adams (55%TOG) alongside no Treloar our midfield was well below what it can produce.

At the end of the day it was a cool gloomy afternoon and the football was as about as exciting as the weather.

I vomited after watching that effort! What ever happened to pride ? When you wear the black and white jumper you must play as though your life depended on it. Jock McHale would never have tolerated that loss today and we shouldn’t either. Pre season game is no excuse for waving the white surrender flag to vermin like St Kilda. And I think some key players should be reminded of how much they are paid and what privileged lives they have compared to their mostly working class fans! Don’t ever put in a performance like this again! Don’t forget we still are yet to explain last year’s Preliminary shocker. And let me say this. This return to the chip chip keeping off crap has ended many a coaching career at Collingwood before! I never want to see that pathetic game style again this year!

No really KPF will be our downfall. Again. No genuine crumbers inside 50. I’m Delivery inside 50 deplorable. Players able to kick 50m+ on the run also an issue. No Pendlebury, no Collingwood... and he’s 48 years old.

Predicting a 6-10 finish.

Hopefully I’m wrong.

A good start ,some flat spots then that gave up that momentum we had

Then a desperate charge in final quarter to wrest it back together with the lead

Something that was annoying during yesterdays game was how often Rupert Wills adjusted his hair, at times during stoppages he seemed more intent of fixing his hair/head band than focusing on the opposition and where he should be or who he should pick up.

For a fringe player (no pun intended) a big showing yesterday could have cemented a spot in the team for round one.

I thought his disposal was generally poor yesterday, was that hair in his eyes?

May need to sacrifice the "do" if he wants to be part of it.

Rather lose in the marsh comp thing then during the season. During the season you do get that 4 points. Marsh you get nothing.
