Hodge certainly is in great form. He scored 220 n.o. from only 208 balls with 38 fours and 3 sixes.

He shared a partnership with Paul Nixon of 278 with Nixon getting just 67 of them.

Stuart Law hit 67 and Kaspa took 3 wickets.

Ian Harvey was the star of Gloustershire's win in the one-day final.

He took 2/37, including the dangerous Graham Hick for a duck, and then blasted 61 from just 36 deliveries to win Man of the Match.

Mike Hussey continues his great form in England. He hit 187 to take his aggregate to 1417 and his average to 94.46.

Simon Katich (70) has 979 @ 58.

Stuart Law averages 84.41 and a total of 1435 with Brad Hodge just behind him on 1427 @ 68.

Damien Martyn began his County stint with 87 (ret. hurt) and Andy Symonds whacked 121 from 123 balls.

Hussey again !! 147 this time.

Law is 65 n.o.

This bloke is not an Aussie but his remarkable innings is worth a mention.

Ian Blackwell came to Oz, last year, and was sent in as a pinch hitter in the ODIs. We wondered why as he could hardly get bat to ball.

Check this !! His team, Somerset were 5/52 when he came to the crease and Dominic Cork had 4 for not many. They went to 7/112 before Blackwell put on 64 for the 8th. wicket with Johnson (25), 70 for the 9th. with Francis (1Cool and an amazing 163 for the 10th. with McLean (39)!!

He hit 247 n.o. from 156 balls with 174 in boundaries - 27 fours and 11 sixes !! - in a total of 409.

Some interesting figures from the County scene.

Most runs:

Stuart Law - 1734 @ 96.33 (15 games)
Mark Ramprakash - 1444 @ 76 (15 games - How did he get in there? He's English!)
Brad Hodge - 1427 @ 67.95 (14 games)
Mike Hussey - 1417 @ 94.46 (12 games)
Michael DiVenuto - 1364 @ 50.51 (14 games)
Simon Katich - 1021 @ 56.72 (12 games)
Martin Love - 677 @ 67.72 (6 games)

On top of the bowling list is the redoubtable 'Mushy'. We know the English batsmen don't handle leggies all that well but as an indication of just what a picnic he's having over there, look at the distance to Ali in second spot. 34 wickets !!

Mushtaq Ahmed - 99 wickets @ 23.92
Next best is Kabir Ali with 65 @ 22.21
8th. on the list: Michael Kasprowicz has 59 @ 24.06

Harvey rules out return to Gloucestershire
Wisden CricInfo staff - September 15, 2003

Gloucestershire have announced that Ian Harvey will not be returning to the club next season. Harvey, who has been a key part in their one-day success for the past five years, rejected a new contract offer, saying, "I wish to take time to consider my future over the autumn and winter and may well take a break next summer."

Harvey was the Man of the Match in this year's Cheltenham & Gloucester final in which Gloucestershire thumped Worcestershire by seven wickets. But after the game he hinted that he may not be coming back next summer among rumours of a change around at the club. He said, "If they want to go in a different direction, that's fine. I have no idea if I'll be back."

However, speaking today, he has not ruled out a return to county cricket: "Should I decide to play county cricket next season then I do feel I need a fresh challenge."

Tom Richardson, Gloucestershire's chief executive, said: "We made Ian the best offer we could and we are extremely disappointed that he will not be continuing with us. However, being an allrounder all year round is extremely demanding and also we do understand if he needs the impetus of a new challenge. He has played magnificently for us on numerous occasions and we are extremely grateful to him for all he has done for the club."

Harvey follows John Bracewell, the coach, and Jonty Rhodes, their other overseas player, out of the door. Bracewell is to coach New Zealand while Rhodes has announced he will retire from first-class cricket at the end of the English season.

Yorkshire had lost 3/51 when Damien Martyn joined Wood at the crease.

Wood (100 n.o.) just completed his century but his partner has raced to 188 n.o. with 158 in boundaries.

He certainly didn't mess around. His 100 came from 65 balls with 15 fours and 4 sixes !!

In stark contrast, Wood's ton took him 199 balls.

First hundred in 65 balls. Second hundred in 64 balls.

Martyn is 203 from 130 balls with 32 fours and 7 sixes !!

The partnership with Wood (106 n.o.) just reached 300.
