Bangladesh were going well at 1/97 in the first Test against South Africa with Omar (2Cool and Bashar (60) at the crease but they then lost 9 wickets for 76 runs to be all out for 173.

Ntini took 2/45 from 17 overs and Dawson, 2/37 from 13 but it was Paul Adams - with the 'frog in a blender' bowling action - who took 5/37 from 12.3 overs who was the star.

At stumps, SA are 2/84 from 22 overs with Rudolph (15) and Dippenaar (16) at the rease.

Earlier, Gibbs went for 17 and Smith, 16.

Extras are already top score with 20, 13 of them no balls.

The Bangers opening bowlers certainly are a contrast with Mortaza going for 45 from 6 overs and Mahmud, only 8 from 5.

Rudolph (41) and Dippenaar (47) have just brought up their 100 partnership.

SA are now 2/143 and only 30 behind.

I think there might be a few exceptions.

Looks like these two are cruising to their centuries. Rudolph is 76 and Dippenaar, 72 as SA roll on to 2/205.

Smith and Gibbs must be kicking themselves all around the dressing room. Lol.

... and still cruising. Rudolph has gone on to 165 and Dippenaar, 128 as SA climb to 2/356.

All sorts of records are under threat in this Test.

Jacques Rudolph has just reached his double century with 27 fours and 1 six. Boeta Dippenaar is on 170 with 25 fours and 1 six.

Their partnership stands at 399 as I write.

Rudolph has eclipsed Andrew Hudson's 163 on debut for SA.

The partnership is now 407 and is the highest for the 3rd. wicket for SA, beating the 341 set by Eddie Barlow and Graeme Pollock in '63/4.

It is the highest all wicket p'ship for SA, beating the 368 by G Smith and H Gibbs.

It is fast approaching the world record 3rd. wicket stand of 467 by A Jones and M Crowe.

Highest all wicket partnership ? 576 by Jayasurija and Mahanama. Watch this space.

Can you please rephrase that with fewer ideas, or different thoughts?

Third wicket world record gone ! It is now 470 and climbing.

Rudolph just hit 14 from one over to go to 222. Dippenaar is stalled (Lol) on 178.

They declared !! Thank the cricket gods for that !!

It would have been a travesty of justice to see many more big records go by the board.

SA have a lead of 297.

Bangladesh have reached the same total as they got in their first innings but have 7 wickets in hand.

Omar (71) and Bashar (75) fought back gallantly until Pollock and Ntini ended their fight.

The Bangers are 3/173. Pollock has 2/12 from 13 overs. He's bowled 9 maidens.
