the press in england have been reporting that newcastle have had a 10 million pound bid for james beattie from southampton turned down this is not true but newcastle have made a bid (amount not known at this time) and have been told to wait till after the cup final to have further discussions and we will not be taking our interest in owen hargreaves any further and newcastle have also spoken to the french club marseile about daniel van buyten but as yet no news on that
