newcastle have won there first serious pre season game in the asia cup in KL by beating birmingham city 2-1 with lee bowyer making his debut and having a good start with him and kieron dyer running the midfield as well as laurent robert causing havoc on the left

| Yer thats a good solid start, good to see shola score a goal hopefully he gets more of a chance this season, he could get 10-15 goals easy if he got regular starts |

| Do you mind if I tell other people you say I am that is a good solid start good to see shola score a goal hopefully he gets more of a chance this season he could get 10-15 goals easy if he got regular starts. |

I think you can add the mighty Norwich to you list of scalps Creedy...the queues outside my local bookies are a mile long...people just cant wait to put their hard earned on Spurs for the title! |

And i think we beat Stevenidge as well, and hold on we have shortened from 250/1 to 110/1. If only these four sides were also in the premiership we might shorten into about 70/1.
But seriously i have high hopes for the new season, i couldnt be as bad as the last one.

| in newcastles second pre season friendly they split there squad in 2 and half the first team went to sheffield wed. and lost 4-3 (dyer,ameobi and lua lua scoring) and the other half went to hartlepool and won 6-0 (shearer 3,speed,salano and bellamy scoring) |

| in newcastles 3rd pre season friendly they sent a weakend team to hull and won 4-0 (chopra 2,ameobi and cort) and the rest of the first team will play bayern munich tonight |
