Well, Greg, you could be in for a lot of merriment because I reckon the Labor Party is in the process of in-fighting itself into oblivion.
Latham clearly has to go ... Nobody likes him ... He's running around like the proverbial chook trying to work out what went wrong when it's all too bloody obvious to anyone with half a brain.
It seems the only "solution" Latham has got to offer is to make the ALP even more indistinguishable from Howard's mob.
"We must improve our economic credentials. We must crawl up the arse of business more. We must distance ourselves even more from our traditional supporters."
The ALP needs to abandon the power-at-all-costs mentality. It clearly hasn't worked. Labor has sold its soul and got nothing in return.
I, for one, would have a lot more respect for an ALP that fought an election on genuine Labor principles and LOST ... than an ALP that tried to compete with the Liberals for the votes of the "free"-marketeers and STILL LOST.
Wake up, Labor ... YOU CANNOT OUT-BASTARD THE BASTARDS.
Labor needs to stop crawling to swinging voters in marginal electorates and start offering some ray of hope to the working poor, the casualised and the unemployable.
Start offering some sort of big-picture vision for a better Australia, a more caring Australia, a more egalitarian Australia ... and maybe some of us who've written you off as a bad joke might start to take you seriously again as a genuine alternative to the Ratbag Right. _________________ Line and Length ... If they got Bob Carr as leader I think labor would be more of a chance. _________________ "Every time we witness an injustice and do not act, we train our character to be passive in its presence." – Julian Assange |

Strangely enough Alf, I kinda recall these were the same kind of criticisms leveled at Peacock, Downer and Howard in the 80's.....I guess what comes around goes around. |

No. He's a dyed-in-the-wool Freo supporter ... and his favourite player was Gai Waterhouse. |
