Post subject: Anzac day and Queens B'day venue? | |
|
G'day Qlder's,
I have been in touch with the Springwood football club about holding small game functions for Collingwood games there on Anzac Day and Queens Birthday. Currently we dont want to hold weekly functions, as it is too much for many people to travel, and game times can sometimes be very late at night with Qld replays, so we have picked a couple of games through the year, that offer the best chance for most members to come along and watch the game together and create an atmosphere for a footy game.
The club is closed on these days, but will open their doors for us. They have a bar and a big screen, and we try to organise a bbq for each day as well. Hopefully the Collingwood Football CLub will also send something our way to raffle off amongst oursleves as well.(they usually do)Springwood Football Club has been chosen (tentatively) because:
A: It is very close to the freeway
B: It is as close to a central location for members as we can get, we have people from the gold coast, logan, westside and northside. Realistically it should be no more than 30 minutes for anyone, whereas if we went to the north or westside for a venue, some people are looking at travelling upto an hour.
C: They have a bigscreen (An important ingrediant)
D: We can have the place to ourselves
Let us know what you think about this idea and if you would consider atteneding these public holiday functions.
