Yeah, trying to win a grand final can only be a good thing.

You would think they would have recruited accordingly. The two experienced players they've picked up are hardly 'exciting' types.

So he finally concedes that boring people to death isn't working as he had first thought? It's only taken a few years and 3 grand finals to figure this out.

The Aints and excitement in 2011 could be:
1. They won't make the Finals
2. Make the Finals and drop out
3. Make the Grand Final and lose again

Now that's pretty exciting Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I look at St Kilda's list and coaching panel and predict that St Kilda will indeed play the most exciting football in 2011 of any team...........................................................................................................................................................................outside the top 8.

Also, it's hard to re-concile the statements...

Quote:
'We really want to play some exciting footy,'' he said. ''We thought we did that in '09, we got on a rampage. In 2010, there were a lot of hurdles and obstacles in the way and we just did it with determination and teamwork. We really want to be aggressive in everything: attacking the ball, attacking the opposition and really hitting the scoreboard. We're going to try to generate some real excitement to get us up and about.''

Lyon was speaking at the unveiling of St Kilda's new players, which include the recycled Ryan Gamble (Geelong) and Dean Polo (Richmond)

When I think excitement, I think Gamble and Polo (sounds like washing powder manufacturers)

If they get Armitage, Steven, Gamble and Stanley in for McQualter, Eddy, Baker and Kosi then they may well be a bit more exciting...as well as Gilbert up forward.

Next year is their last chance.

It just makes me laugh however because everyone has known for so long that it is a boring game-plan and that the Saints have a terrible bottom 6.

I can't see Lyon changing it too much apart from adding a bit more pace to the team.

Ross doesn't like the kids. If Armitage had been a pies player, he'd now be a premiership player. That's the difference.

I found their losing to us in a Grand Final pretty damn exciting. If they want to do that every year, I'm all for it!
