But you all knew that already. Razz

No, in the spirit of the "What pisses me off" thread which was a truly brilliant concept by some inspired person, and the cheap chinese knock off "What made you happy", the sponsors are proud to bring to you, the people of Nicks, the opportunity to brag a a bit.

Toot your own horn so to speak, sort of like I did here http://www.magpies.net/nick/bb/viewtopic.php?t=60641&start=24
But maybe try a little more humility.

No, withdraw that - no humility required.

When did you last do something that made you sit back in admiration and say to yourself "Damn I'm good"

I tend to do it frequently but hey.... the most recent was this morning.

I have a remote control that works the ceiling fan in one of the bedrooms. There is NO other way to turn the fan on and off. No wall switch.
The remote, she no work. At one time, I'd must of left batteries in it too long, which went off and leaked and corroded the terminals. Having cleaned the terminals and still no luck I looked very closely at them and realised that one of the springs that go at the negative end of the AAA battery had lost half it's length. Obviously corroded off and therefore it was not making proper contact with the battery.

A little careful scraping with a knife, a small wad of aluminium foil strategically inserted in the spring, and voila. Remote, she now work again. Damn I'm good.

So, save the applause, what was the last thing you did to make yourself say "Damn I'm good"? Give yourself a pay on the back and let us all share in it.

^^ For me that is mighty impressive. It's given me a clue as to how to go about fixing my remote headphones for the TV (same issue with the batteries - I need to check the springs though) - think the last bit may well be it.

Cheers!

Um, if you are so good shouldn't you have changed the batteries before they leaked in the first place?

I'd say you're even steven and back to the position where you started.

C'mon, get in the spirit. It's not about me, it's about you and everyone else. Haven't you done anything recently that made you strut just a little?

In the last 18 months I've renovated my kitchen (floor to ceiling and everything else), renovated my bathroom (as per my kitchen), and pulled apart my kids bedrooms and completely refurbished them (including putting together my sons new double bunk bed, what a f^@#ing job that was). Later I put down a new brick pathway and steps at the rear of the house, fixed the broken pergola, put together two new sheds, and lastly put up a lime stone wall at the front of the house.

I feeling pretty bloody tired after reading all that so I'm off for a sleep Laughing Laughing Laughing just kidding I've got kids, I don't sleep any more Wink

Stui, apparently the terminals on Sam Gilbert's digital camera are all clagged up too.
Any idea how this could happen, who the culprit is, and have you any intention to assist these lads in their hour of need?
