BigFooty (Carlton)...

Quote:
Hooo boy that was trash

That was Winnie the Poo

Quote:
Back to bad habits, very few stood up when needed.

Time for some changes Vossy.

Quote:
Shocker. Next.

Quote:
Reality check.

Quote:
Smashed in every facet of the game, to lazy, to selfish, to cute.

Quote:
Bad guys win

Quote:
I am off to have a good cry.

Quote:
Im not angry that we lost, just at the way we lost. It's pathetic.

Quote:
Sack Voss Razz

Quote:
For once you can say we're better than that and actually mean it.

That was an unwelcome start to my Sunday, Carlton.

Most unwelcome.

Quote:
Necessary reality check, but gee we were soft at times.

Unrecognisable from the first couple of games.

Quote:
Probably the most pathetic performance I have ever seen from our midfield. TDK, Kennedy and Cerra were embarassing. Walsh poor. Hewett can hold his head up high.

Very nervous for the weeks ahead. I am worried we may be a one trick pony. Win clearance and kick long to tall forwards. The first part of that equation looks susceptable without cripps particularly if our other mids are as garbage as they were today.

Quote:
Chuck that one in the bin

Quote:
A disgusting performance, up there with 2021 for effort. Side is still mentally weak: intuitively I knew we wouldn’t turn up today and I was right.

Fuming.

Cripps injury didn’t help but if we’re a genuine good side we would have found a way. The fact we didn’t raise a yelp speaks volumes.

Quote:
“Listless” is accurate. Is it 2021 again?

I thought we’d go undefeated all year. I’ll take one loss for the season. All good.

Quote:
Untimely loss. Inexcusable. We basically gave 4 points back, best not to dwell on it.

Quote:
No energy all game.. even when we kicked the first 2. Just an off game. They lacked motivation all game

Quote:
Shades of 2012. Carrots injured in the round 4 loss to essendon and here we had Cripps injured.

Quote:
We’re still pretenders unfortunately until we back up our performance week after week. We just made the Suns look like a good side. Embarrassing to say the least. Our system and lack of urgency completely let us down.

Quote:
Didn't think I'd feel this deflated, doesn't help I stayed to do kick to kick and only Suns people are on the shuttle back to the train lol.

Quote:
As soon as our midfield is off we are back to the same side we were last season.

Quote:
Well, that was just plain pathetic. No intent at all

Quote:
Club literally copped an almighty blood nose.

Rucks were sadly exposed.

Quote:
Rubbish day.

Axe will be swung.

Quote:
Feels like 2012 lite. Just routine for Carlton to put in a putrid effort after any run of good form. Won't try to problem solve a game like this and hopefully Carlton pull up for next week.

Quote:
That was just a terrible day at the office. Hopefully just an aberration and we bounce back next week.

Quote:
Bad memories vibing at the moment …. Last 20 years when we really have something to play for the players that put on the jumper have let us down massively … today no exception.

We still have too many ordinary footballers in this side to be taken seriously as a threat.

Quote:
Our percentage is worth a game too.

Quote:
We are now 95%.........outside of top 8 territory now, only time.
If Hawks and Cats win we are 8th.

Quote:
We are just still not very good. Too many passgers. Our bottom 6-8 players just not up to it. There is much to do.

Quote:
Not good enough tonight. A reality check. Percentage tells a better story than the win-loss record at the moment. We’re a mid table side at the moment but have fallen over the line twice to make the win-loss record look strong.
Bottom 6 is a problem at the moment.

Quote:
Can we stick a f@@rkin tackle?

Quote:
We won just the one (1st) quarter and it wasn't even a good one.
Can't win games like this.

Quote:
We have only won 9 quarters this year, we have been lucky to be winning. this was a reality check

Absolute reality check.

Bad guys win

But I am not flat like after the gc loss

Quote:
We need to cut deep. Carrying far too many.

Quote:
I'd drop 20 players if I were Voss

Defence has gone from our strength to a massive weakness

Quote:
Simply shit full

56-38 inside 50s. Absolutely smashed us.

Listless pretenders

Bottom 6 % now...

Quote:
Meh, guess we found out today were not making top 8 this year, not if this is how we play..

Quote:
yuk.
forget this one. Kangas worry me now.

Quote:
Far too many passengers.
Very disappointing game.

Quote:
Reality Bites. Freo are the real deal

Quote:
Lucky we are 4-2, sure doesn’t feel like it after the last 2 games. Tough times ahead if Pitto and Harry are out.
Harry pulling up sore to miss another head to head with Ben.

Quote:
We’re useless on the outside.

Quote:
Our bottom 6 is not up to it. Today it was about a bottom 8 that contributed next to nothing.
Percentage is telling at the moment. We’re travelling as a mid table team and nothing more.

Quote:
They’re going to need to do a whole lot better than what we’ve seen lately to have any business at the serious end of the season.

Quote:
I was all set for a cracker of a game for a Saturday night and we just didn't show up at all.

Quote:
Our percentage is less than half the teams outside the 8 … our two losses haven’t been close we’ve been convincingly thumped in both … Voss has lots of work to do

Quote:
Very concerned about a team which is far too reliant on purple patches of centre clearance dominance leading to our key forwards exposing opposition on the 666 rule.

This is our one-wood but it's unreliable and when it's not working we look bog ordinary in most other facets of the game. That's the honest truth right now.

Thanks, Jezza. There isn't (yet) quite as much angst as in their glory days - but we have started to get a whiff of the dead rat they're cooking.

I don't quite know whether I'm more thrilled for Carlton or for Voss. I love them both equally.

The final margin flattered Carlton. They got the first two goals of the game but then from late in the first quarter to early in the third, Freo kicked 11 goals to 3 to kill the game. By that time, Freo was double Carlton's score (74 to 37). Freo just sat on the splice after that.

Worst @#$%&! game of the @#$%&! year.
@#$%&! these pricks

Quote:
Gutted. So close.

Quote:
Who is the smartarse who made the decision to make Carrol the sub instead of Martin. ? He was just shithouse.

Serves us right, we should have won this game. Now we are out of the top 4.

And we will be hearing about how good Collingwood is for ages. We will get no credit at all.

Quote:
Let's face it this was coming and we've rode our luck a few times.

Quote:
We're outplayed all day, would have been complete theft.

Ironic really.

Quote:
Almost pinched it but we were a fair way off to be honest.

Quote:
Still gutted but we were pretty ordinary for large parts of today.

Quote:
As is the Carlton way, Voss has said the Weiters injury is “more towards the major end”.

If was fun while it lasted.

Quote:
Like many others, had a feeling about this game all week.

In our three losses we've had to sub a player out super early, and the player subbed on hasn't been a good replacement.

Smalls struggled especially early on.

Bottom six were average.

They should have won by far more - they missed a lot of shots.

Just annoying as @#$%&! to lose to Collingwood.

Quote:
First close one we’ve lost. Didn’t deserve to win

Quote:
Just watched the final 2 minutes.
That was a free to Walsh.

Just watched the final 2 minutes.
Collingwood won, Carlton lost.

Quote:
Very flat, here.

The result, the non-performance of a number, the injury.

Them winning.

Quote:
Was at the game... legit thought we'd pinched it with that last shot!

It was a messy game all around.

I'm not at all one for blaming the umpires, but, I did feel that had an equally poor day, and that contributed to the team failing to settle.

I'm also not a fan of "they'll learn from that" as a reaction to a loss, but, I do think losing a close one when we've been poor will be a lesson they had to learn.

Just a flat team today, making some simply stupid decisions. Luckily Collingwood were equally flat, and struggled in front of goal.

Nevertheless, some flashes of brilliance here and there, and a few players really put their heart into it.

I'm strangely calm about the loss. But they need to ensure it's a blip along the way, not a season turning point.

Quote:
Ultimately a disappointing day at the footy. We were outplayed for the majority of the day but still did enough to almost pinch it late. Stings a little bit more given the opponent too of course.

Quote:
I'm more devastated about the injury than the loss. It could really derail our season.

Quote:
Too many passengers . I thought our topend players were great , but shit we fell away . Our bottom six were deplorable today . The injury to Weiters is concerning . Very concerning .

Quote:
I will go back to what I said at the start of the year.
We have 6 key players if they all play We beat anyone . Lose 1 and we are still competing
Lose 2 We are bottom of the 8
Lose 3 We miss the 8.

Quote:
I can live with the loss, but the injury to Weitering is just so disappointing.

I don’t think I’m being too dramatic to say that top 4 is off the table now; I’ll be rapt if we can scrape into the eight from here. Weitering is that big of a loss to us, on top of all the others.

Quote:
Yup….

weird feeling…it’s more about the injury than
the loss for sure…!

Quote:
Also….

how the %#@$ does COX play a role in
the win…because he did…mental…!

%#@%ING COX and SIDEBOTTOM…!

Quote:
You know the 1 thing that annoyed me more than anything about yesterday.
Not the result.
Not the effort.

The fact that bloody De Goey should've put his head over the ball and instead flaked it when he saw players coming at him leading to weiters bump and injury.

Quote:
Absolutely hate losing, BUT, all things considered i am very comfortable with how we are tracking as a team

Quote:
Yesterday reminded me why I haven't been to a Collingwood game in years.
From the screeching banshee behind me abusing the shit our of her own players from the first bounce to the last, with the exception of Ginnivan who she wanted to have kids with, to their brainless zombie "Coll-ing-wooood" chant, to the bloke wanting to punch on with a Carlton supporter who was built like an oak tree after the game while his partner consoled his hysterical kid it wasn't a pleasant experience.

As for the game itself, I was less disappointed than I thought I'd be. Played poorly, lost one if the best defenders in the comp early, but almost snatched the win. So much better than previous seasons.

Quote:
Collingwood were clearly the better side however in the end our match committee probably cost us the match

Quote:
Keep playing close games you'll eventually lose one

Quote:
Seriously….

what’s wrong with Colon-Woods supporters…?

they’re like Pig Pen from Peanuts…!

they say we’re arrogant…well that’s better
than looking dirty all the time…!

Not taking the loss well? Razz

Quote:
Very flat after that loss.
Great fight back in the last, and we shoulda, coulda... stolen it...with a bit of luck.
Oh well.

Quote:
I think Coll played better than us for most of the match. And we were not as ferocious as we have been.

Quote:
The next month could be brutal. Especially if we lose to the cheats.

Quote:
Just saw the footage of Walsh blazing away in the dying seconds and not hitting up Mots who was home alone about 20mins out.

Missed it by that much. Embarassed

BigFooty (Carlton)...

Quote:
Scoreboard flattered us.

Pies pressure just too good for too long.

Quote:
That is rough

Quote:
The loss hurts.

But not as much as losing Weiters

Quote:
Unlucky blues, great fight back considering the injuries.

Definition of an honourable loss.

Quote:
Pies were the better team all day but this was the weakest team Carlton has fielded all year.

Quote:
Did well to get so close, thought we were outplayed for about 80% of the game. Their bad kicking for goal kept is in it and we almost stole it.

Quote:
Ugh, what a shit game to go into the bye with.

Quote:
******* bullshit.

Walsh coathangered at the end.

Scum in green ducked us all game.

Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Quote:
Some of the spatial awareness of our players is at u13s level. Beaten by a bunch of frauds, im livid

Quote:
Absolute disgrace.

ALL DAY they paid taking the ball and diving holding the ball.

Until they didn't.

Umpires gift Collingwood another win.

Celebrate it like a grand final, Filth. It's the closest you'll get to a grand final until the year 3000.

Celebrate your 27 year premiership drought, because it's going to continue for years to come.

Quote:
gutted

Quote:
Collingwood did pretty well. They buy in to the new system

Quote:
See you in Round 23 bitches

See you there as we do the double Cool

Quote:
Well. shit.

Quote:
We'll play finals, they won't. Oh well. Get the bye and get onto * and tuggers.

LOL Laughing

Quote:
It's the hope that hurts.... So close, and bloody brave from this mob.

Pies deserved it overall, but I'm glad we never let our heads get down.

Quote:
too many passengers today.....plus poor ball use.

Pies played much better sadly.

Quote:
Hurting bad

Quote:
Collingwoods grand final

Quote:
Collingwood should have beaten us by 5-6 goals……missed a heap of shots

Quote:
Real proud of the boys for fighting it out against the odds, would have been one of the greatest victories had SOS snagged that. So annoying to lose to that filthy rabble though.

Quote:
Wasn’t the umpires.

Pies were stronger and beat us on the spread.

Quote:
Well that ******* hurts

Quote:
Would've been a steal to win but an exciting finish. Better team on the day won it so fair credit to Pies. Great fight back showing something late but too little, too late.

Quote:
I was disappointed in our crowd. Not sure how it was at the game, but on the radio it always sounded like the Pies every action was deafening cheers and our actions booed or drowned out.

Again, might just be the commentary box being surrounded by Pie fans but thats how it sounded.

We have just more passionate supporters Very Happy

Quote:
Today was coming.
We’ve been dodging the injury bullets for a while now and Weitering broke the camel’s back.

Quote:
No excuses. This was a unacceptable effort.

Oh and f*** the umps. Total garbage today

Quote:
I'll take solace in the opposition fans celebrating our loss.

The hatred and jealousy is back.

I hope the Pies make finals. They'll lose by 30 goals.

Quote:
Didn't deserve the win. Pies were by far the better team on the day.

Quote:
Pies were shit. Only scored off counter attack and when Umpires paid bullshit frees out of the middle like "blocking the ruckman" which is a literal brain dead free kick that makes no sense.

We would have won by 30 with Weitering in the side. Garbage game. duck Collingwood.. little rat Ginnivan played like shit after the first minute... can't kick. Can't win a content. They were ******* GARBAGE.

Yours tears are salty Laughing

Quote:
Bit flat.

Probably shouldn't have been as close as we were, so glad to see that despite taking a big loss to the defensive unit we were able to restrict them.

Quote:
Let the pies have their fun
We will verse them again in r23, with Mckay, welters, Pitt, gov, Williams and Martin
See how they go then

Quote:
We’re a far better team than the filth, just too many injuries eventually took their toll

Bahahahahahaha the results say otherwise Laughing

Quote:
Collonwood won the Battle but the wont win the war.

Ooooooh Laughing

Quote:
Going to be honest. It hurts, but I think it's not a huge setback.

Quote:
Please no references to the umpiring.
I’ve watched it a few times - there is no free to Walsh at the end - us fans need to lose gracefully like our players did today…

A gracious Carlton supporter... Shocked

Quote:
Pies were good all day not too disappointed with the loss

Quote:
Ohhh man imagine JSOS snap went through.

That loss hurt.

Losing weiters absolutely killed us. Can we please go few weeks without losing key spine players.. beyond a joke the quality and importance of players we lose

Quote:
I was mocked during the week for being nervous about this game… yet here we are.

We - supporters and players - get too ahead of ourselves after a few wins.

Quote:
Pies had the edge aerially especially with Weitering going down.

Quote:
We should have lost that by a few more goals, pies missed a heap.

Quote:
Hate losing to the scum.

That loss would have stung the players as much as the supporters - but it might be an important step in the journey for the group.

Genuine BIG game footy - even against an ordinary side like the pies - is a whole different level. Not going to win many of that style of game (finals level) going missing for an entire quarter like we have done quite a few times this year (including tonight).

Quote:
What's more embarrassing, the Crows power stance or the pies supporters chanting U.S.A.?

Quote:
A Hard Lesson here for Weits to Learn.
Theres no point in Him trying to Bump Degoey, Whom had the ball kicking forward anyhows.
Loved the guts that he showed in doing so but that aint his game.
His attempt in doing so didnt affect what Degoey was trying to do and that was to get the ball forward..

Quote:
Can’t say it didn’t hurt because it did, those complaining about the umpiring, honestly better team on the day won. Was always going to be a danger game, Weiterbot going down and Carrol selection as med sub didn’t help either.

Quote:
…..and my suspicions that Ginnivan is a useless turd were conclusively proved correct.

Yep.👍

I love how much Ginni riles them up Laughing

Got him on an off day and still couldn't win.

Quote:
We all knew Weiters would go down before long, Collingwood were just lucky enough it happened against them.

Their players celebrated like they'd had a win against a giant. Speaks volumes.

Quote:
I tip my hat... to pay due credit to Collingwood. They played a very good pressure and tackling game, which blunted our main edge. Most teams won't be able to do that.

Quote:
To compliment our opposition today, they're easily the best tackling side we've faced all year. They stick their tackles better than any other team in the competition. Having had soft teams in the past I find that attribute highly enviable.

Quote:
These v pies games over the years are unrelated to the season as a whole.
Its not worth worrying about.
A few things that will be learned from is good. A reminder not to get ahead of ourselves too.

For them it was likely their season high...for us theres a bright horizon.

Carna Blues

The delusion is high Laughing

Quote:
Good game. I thought they were a 4 goal better side on the day, as much as I hate to admit it.
I would have loved to have pinched it.
Brave loss, no shame.

Quote:
Pretty flat

Quote:
Collingwood’s pressure was relentless all game. We probably would have just fell over the line against most sides.

Quote:
Pies wanted it more at the end of the day and we are mentally and physically spent. Injuries have taken their toll.

Quote:
Our best 22 bests Collingwood best 22 every day of the week- problem is I haven’t seen our best 22 on the park since 1995.
