Shaw, Didak and Reid expected to return this week.

Thomas to return for the Lions match most likely.

While I never trust that Sports News First site they have it close to as is.

Didak will play, and Shaw and Reid are a chance, but they will have to train strongly this week.

Tarrant and Thomas are no chance for this week, but both will be considered for the trip to the Gabba.

Let me first consult the crystal balls of the lad and I'll get back to you.

I reckon Reid won't be risked against the lowly Dogs. Tarrant also unlikelyt to be risked. Didak has to play, Shaw also if fit you would think.

I read a report in one of the papers last week and Reid said he would be OK for the Dogs game.

Reid will be right for the dogs, as will Shaw and Didak.

After the Tarrant debacle (and dogs lack of forwards), they'll make Reid and Shaw wait another week and unleash Dids.

In: Dids
Out: Seedsman

We'll cover the dogs with the kids and unleash the guns on the bears so they have a run before Geelong.

Didak apparently rolled his ankle in the VFL game yesterday and was rested for a quarter before coming back on. Hopefully he'll be right, but if there's any doubt, he will won't play on friday.

Thank you MR Swoop 42.

The Lad has polished his crystal balls:

Reid - give the quad one more week
Shaw- in
Dids- possible
Thomas- one more week
Tarrant- two more weeks

Paine- strong marking display in the VFL second half- a chance

Marley Williams (rookie) looked very polished in the VFL
Elliot- took one screamer but needs more time in senior footy to get the tempo.
Young- battling away
Mooney- freak aerobic, leaping and pace- certainly worth persisting with.
Witts- The Chosen One played his best game in Black and White- his parting of several packs with his size and strength was Moses-Party-Trick-Like
Ceglar- Lots to like.
Wood- His second-half dominance was great.
Yagmoor- got plenty of it but, uncharacteristically, butchered it by foot- too close to the man on the mark when he kicked too often.
Hartley (Rookie)- lots to like- 196cms and goes very hard.

Gault- I went to see this kid play, but he didnt..

Out of senior side.... God knows.

Would like to see Ugle/Seedsman get another go but who knows..

Very happy with the Pies- wrote a lovely letter to Pert today about the new membership categories..

I like The Lad's reasoning- Dids no certainty to return, particularly if he rolled an ankle.

Does The Lad have any heads-up on Shae McNamara? Is it possible he could be drafted in 2013 as a mature-age rookie if his form is good enough?

Are there any Estonian athletes who might be International rookie-listed?

Thank you Miss Voice of Reason- long time, no hear- I trust you and your partner are hale and hearty.

The Lad is impressed by what Shae McNamara has achieved in such a short time but believes that he will NOT be retained on the list in 2013. He is such a positive person, he will be missed by the playing group.

Estonian athletes are hard to measure up against the super-athletes who play AFL, which The Lad considers the toughest ball sport in the world.

Our 'Rising Star' at home is Igor Sjunin, a triple jumper who, incredibly, is built like Brent McCaffer, and, at 21, would have time on his side.

Mikk Pahapill is one of our finest athletes who would compare with, say, Travis Cloke (at 196kg and 93kg). He is Estonia's number one decathlete, can run all day, and, like Lachie Keefe, is a former soccer goalkeeper. The only problem is his age, 28.

There is nothing to say that either or both of these men could not play AFL, but language could be an issue as they are not fluent English speakers (although neither was Doug Hawkins and he played over 300 games).

I just looked up Estonia. Fascinating that a European country is less than half the size of Tasmania area wise. Shocked

I just 'aksed 'Dougie for his crystal ball view. This is what he thinks:
-Reid prob 1 more week
-Shaw maybe
-Didak yes
-Thomas, no. Perhaps Brisbane, but more likely Geelong.
-Tarrant, no. VFL game same weekend as Geelong game.

If Dids did an ankle, let him rest - but it would probably not be a groin favourable flight to and from Bris the following week either. So he may then be resting/VFL till after Geelong.

Happy for everyone else to come back when best fit for the tough run home.

Jols will need a rest soon, and laid-back Wood seems to have woken up now post-shoulder in the VFL.

Fas isn't frothing and bubbling either and may need a break soon in his second year?
