Can anyone please tell me the name of the song (music) they played at half time today at the game....it sounds a bit tribal...drums ...

Can't help with the name, but it was inflicted on the crowd at 3/4 time as well. Why do we need loud thumping music at the breaks? Better than screeching ads I agree, but surely we don't need music at all. Gee, this crap kept up right until the umpire held the ball aloft.

I recall hearing Sympathy for the Devil played over the PA at some stage today - but I expect that is still sufficiently well-known as to be instantly recognizable, so that's probably not what you were asking about?

I heard Two Tribes by Frankie goes to Hollywood there a few weeks ago.. it's like the MCG never got out of the 80's

Yes i love the stones but playing that particular song incredibly loud right until the moment the ball was bounced was odd to say the least.

Would have been Sympathy by The Stones - I remember hearing it too.. but I've never associated the drums intro being "tribal" haha I don't mind hearing tunes at the breaks.

Quite the oposite actually... Sympathy for the Devil given Melbournes mascot is quite clever, might actually explain our first quarter with the players getting caught up in doling out some sympathy to the Dees.
