I thought part of the reason for delaying the announcement of the Round 23 playing times was to accommodate teams playing finals.

We will most likely play Port Adelaide or Essendon, who get an extra days rest.

The Port vs Carlton Saturday afternoon should be the Pies vs North Sunday afternoon slot.

Equally, why must Geelong or Hawthorn play a cloyingly defensive Freo at Etihad?

FWIW, we've got a huge break this week and a dead rubber next week to take care of any sore players.

Because preference is always given to top 4 teams.

That game is in SA. They can only play 1 game per day at the MCG.

Only other option would be 2 Friday night games, and that can't work due to TV deals.

I hate dead rubbers, even worse when the other team has a heap to play for. I'd rather circle work like the Dogs/Pies last round a few years back than having desperate Roos players smashing in while our guys try not to get hurt. trying not to get hurt is when you do.

Thanks Wokko.

Essendon vs Richmond game takes the MCG slot.

Our position cannot change so play the VFL side.

Dont play pendles, swan, cloke and Reid.

We'll finish 6th regardless... Cant get 5th. Doubt Tigers will lose to Dons once their season is finished tomorrow.

I think you'll find that when they announced the final round we were below Port on the ladder and therefore their game took precedence over ours. Would love to know why we're not the 1:10pm game but I think this tear's final round was the perfect Storm for the AFL in that so many contenders for the finals were drawn to play each other.

Sucks big time but oh well if we'd been top 6 we would have been looked after. Alas we weren't at the time and in fact many pundits were wondering if we would miss the finals altogether. Just be glad it's at the MCG and not shitihad stadium.

Go pies

I say go for broke. Lets enter the finals at full steam. The second you start tip toeing around contests is the second you invite injury - particularly when playing a team that has someone to play for. Worse still... If we hold back we could enter the finals on the back of another 90 point flogging with the way the Roos can score if they are let loose.... And if the filth beat Port (unlikely but possible) then Norf have zero to play for except to stuff us up - or give us injuries or suspensions.

Go for broke, I hate this mob. Lets hit the finals at 100 miles an hour and see what happens.

Go pies

I actually think the Bombers will play their 'Grand final' next week and beat Richmond.
