Cartoon have a shit list with a ton of aging players.. **** them, I would like nothing more than to see the tooners go all out on Pod, Chappy add in Del Santo and anyone else they can get at the expense of doing the hard yards recruiting quality blokes/players and developing them..
They are soo $£$%^%%$ arrogant it actually makes them stupid.. literally. They are Waite and Judd away from a wooden spoon
I am confident Dale will add some wood to his collection other than micks.. |
Great post and you're correct on all accounts. It almost feels like that Bucks doesn't want to take the shortcut and he's got a goal in his mind and this is the building blocks to ensure premiership success in the future.
On that other hand Carlton seem intent to chase after any player over 30 to win that 17th flag they're so desperate for, yet they don't realise how far off they are from winning. Part of me is thriving on the fact that they're hyping themselves up yet there side is on the brink of declining dramatically if the likes of Judd, Scotland and Waite all retired next year. They have no real talented youngsters coming through as opposed to us and they seem intent on a short-term fix rather than a long-term plan and I doubt Daisy will make a ounce of difference at the club.
Oh well at least we're on the right track unlike them _________________ | 1902 | 1903 | 1910 | 1917 | 1919 | 1927 | 1928 | 1929 | 1930 | 1935 | 1936 | 1953 | 1958 | 1990 | 2010 | 2023 | |

Ages in 2014:
Judd 31
Waite 31
Carrazzo 30
Scotland 34
Simpson 30
Duigan 30
Plus some of the names that have been linked to the Scum in this Trade/Free Agency period, with their ages in 2014:
Chapman 32
Didak 31
Podsiadly 33
Cross 31
Staker 30
That's a lot of blokes to be on the wrong side of their 30th birthdays.
They want a flag before Judd retires, before they hit the 20th anniversary of their 1995 heist, ideally in their 150th year and before they realise that the Old Man doesn't have another 5 year + rebuild in him.
Again, particularly now since they've gotten Thomas, they're running around like they've got the best list in the comp. Just bring in a couple of top-ups and Mick will get it for us. Don't worry, she'll be right, we'll get Juddy his flag before he retires. No need to invest for the future, we're nearly there. We beat our bunnies Richmond in a final, we're stormin' down the tracks!
Please, do continue down this path, Carltank.
The fall will be so much more fun to watch. |

Interesting point that a mate from work made. They have about 8 coaches in total versus our 11. They have fewer coaches than just about any club, with few development coaches.
Not going to get much out of your young players if you don't put the effort in to them.
Perhaps why the Lucas', Bootsma's, Watson's haven't come on as first round draft picks might be expected to _________________ One team, one dream - the Pies and this year's premiership |

And they got it wrong. So far this year, he hasn't looked like delivering 17. Gold Coast have a mortgage on 17, Carlton are saying "thanks Mick, we asked for 17 and you are delivering us 18th". _________________ Let's eat Grandma. Commas save lives! |

Three in fact. The original mistake and then I triple posted my response when it was pointed out. What's worse is that it was the first mistake I had made in over ten years. Ah well, I guess the golden run had to come to an end at some stage. It's a relief in some ways because the pressure of maintaining such a streak was starting to become a burden and now I feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. |

It would end up like the Geelong couriers - John Wren pissing off with the money and spending up big on a VW beetle and the back catalogue of Donald Duck comics. _________________ McRae for Governor-General! |
