I know it's a early call but this kid has the same style as the best defender for the pies in the last 15 years I have seen in James Clement. Langdon doesn't panic, he is a smooth operator great mark, kicks well, picks the right option and reads the play very well. Also doesn't get beaten very often 1 on 1. I can't wait to see where he will be in 2-3 years time. He is our answer to Heath Shaw. All hail Tom Langdon _________________ DAICOS might try the torpedo here, he does and THUMPS it LOOK AT THAT its home!!! |

Like your confidence, but let's not put too much pressure on the kid.
That said, I'm also confident he will turn out to be very good for us in the long run. |

Big call early. Dunno if he's big enough to be a KPP like Jimmy. More an Andrew Mackie from Geelong type for mine, just reads it brilliantly, doesn't panic, clinical disposal and good decision making under pressure. A potential 200 gamer. _________________ 'Collingwood are the Bradmans of Football'

Langdon is looking like a really fine player...but WOW this is a very very very early call "Bucks the greatest"
Does anyone remember the hype on: Matthew Lokans first year at the pies???? he was taken at pick.70 and had a freakish first year...before he almost sank into oblivion.
How about Jason Cloke's first year???......
Think we need to wait a few more years before we start making any comparison to anyone. _________________ "To know nothing of events before your birth, is to forever remain a child" - Cicero (Roman Lawyer/Senator) 46 BCE. |

Clement was a brilliant player who could play small or tall and win one one one contests.
Way to early to compare. _________________ We're always up to mischief! |

Nope, don't see any similarities what so ever.
Scharenberg is more likely to be a Clement like player. Langdon as most experts have already said is a Mackie like player, someone who can play on medium to small forwards and play time as a midfielder as his career develops.
Nothing like Clement really. |

Would have thought that Corey "Boris" Enright would be a far more apt comparison. |

It's more to do with discussing a good prospect than a need for comparison. I think a lot of us are excited in the way Tom is developing, and a way to describe this is by comparing him with past players. His calm under pressure and intercept marks, telling tackles and good kicking naturally remind him of a great player by the name of Clement. Tom's played a few really good games Freo, Dons and now against the Scum it's courageous. The pleasure of watching Clement do his stuff is etched in our memories. Watching Tom remind's us of the art of defending so why not say that Tom reminds us of James. |
