Agree that for the season proper this is an absolutely meaningless game Defender.

But for us oldies . . . it's against the scum - so yeah I care and a I care a LOT!!

Obliterate the filth.

No injuries that's the main thing…

A little more game fitness into the players and some young guys learning the ropes - result does not matter - save the punishment when it counts!

I can't believe how many Nicksters are saying todays game doesn't matter -

It's against the Filth , people - of course it matters

I don't like losing to the Filth at anything .

While they're down we need to keep both feet firmly on the back of their neck & keep them there .

Enjoy the day today. Don't care about the score. Just hope the recruits play well and we have no injuries.

I'm off to the GP today. Cool and overcast conditions here. Hoping Daniel can pull something out of the bag with his Red Bull and give the Mercedes some competition.

Blue skies over Bendigo.

Perhaps Rudie can make a sequel.

i want to see patty k, gaulty, kenno etc back up their performances from a fortnight ago. of course, all eyes will be on jdg. we know what we can get from varcoe and greenwood, less so crisp. i am not the slightest bit interested in what mason cox does but hope he goes well for the sake of the club.

I hate Carlton as much as anyone but I'd swap a win against them today for an injury free game (from our side, couldn't care less if they get injuries).

It's all about getting through this game in tact, next week will be a more serious hit out against the Dogs with only 13 days between it and the first game vs the Brisbane BearLions.

no we don't. it is a practice match and the focus will be on getting the processes right rather than the outcome.

we only have to beat them in the season proper.

Carlton do not look very good to me on paper - bottom 6 team for 2015?

With our ins this game and a practice game under our belt, I'd be disappointed if we didn't dominate possession and win easily. More importantly, I'm looking for:

fast ball movement in transition
maintaining possession (fewer turnovers, high kicking efficiency)
the same pressure and tackling we saw in the first practice match
high # I50s (and marks I50)
good conversion from i50s (kick straight)

Hopefully Freeman comes in as emergency even after the VFL game. I'd like to see more of him. EDIT: Assuming no additional injury risk based on game time.

Carn the Pies!

NO injuries, run kids into form, that's the priority.
