Rule number 1 of being a quality club. When a player gives his knee for you (in this case twice), you give him every chance to rehabilitate himself!
We look after our own.

Depth is depth.
Besides, he can always become a forward again and give the front half an extra option.

Some one said send him forward --prior to 2010 we had two youngsters in VFL
kicking bags of goals --a kid named McCaffer ,the other named Dawes
But forward line may be booked up if the likes of Karnezis ,Gault and Moore get there

I'd love to see McCaffer as the defensive forward instead of Blair. Would automatically improve the height average.

Experienced depth is something we are lacking
He can play as a tagger a forward and can play defence who else do we have that can do all of the above and is not too valuable in their own position.

Is versatile as posters noted which is valuable asset.

I suppose delisting players and offering players to be traded is the right enviroment?
Really, players are not under any illusions about the culture of AFL clubs.
