Just looked at the upcoming games. Not that I really care (I think the draw should be made as difficult as possible for Geelong until they get back to the bottom third of the ladder, where they belong) but it doesn't seem quite right that Geelong play in the West very late tomorrow and then play Essendon at Etihad off a 6-day break (Essendon having, of course, played at the MCG tonight). It's always hard having to play off a short break and always hard backing up after the big interstate trip - so why compound it by making a team do both at the one time? |

suffered a slight corky. he was also subbed off in the last quarter last round.
it was a very ordinary game of footy. essendon were woeful and richmond not much better. it was amateur hour n many occasios. they were able to put it together more often. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

Now that he's got to his 400, I hope they pension him off.
As much as I resented them for every kick they got and every premiership they won, Tuck and Bartlett were amongst the very, very best players I have ever seen. Each of them played at an extraordinarily high level as main pieces of star teams until the end of their careers (Tuck retired straight after his last Grand Final victory) or near the end (Bartlett kicked 21 goals in the 1980 final series, when he was almost 34, and kicked 58 goals in each of the following two seasons, one in a losing GF team - he really only "faded" in his last year but, even then, kicked 2 goals a game over his 19 matches).
By contrast, Fletcher has been a good-ordinary footballer, just over a very long period of time. He hasn't played in a winning finals team since 2004 and has never really been a player you worried about before your team played Essendon. |

The difference in scoring shots in the West Coast – Geelong match is pretty remarkable. At three quarter time, West Coast are leading 9.21 to Geelong's 9.3. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Now 10.23 to 9.3. 51 inside 50s to 28. Geelong got within 11 points late in the third but have been kept scoreless since. |
