A win tomorrow would tell us very little. GWS are in a similar position to us at the moment, still proving their worth. Our win over North was more significant.

^ A close game, sure, but I think a decisive result either way would tell us something about both teams. If so, hopefully we're on the right end of it. Smile

But if we beat every team outside the 8 ATM , we'll probably make the 8. No shame in that. Making the finals with a developing team is a great sign for the future.

But development of the team, is a higher priority than finals IMO.

A win today would tell us we're better than GWS, who are currently 5th on the ladder. But apart from that it would tell us very little. Rolling Eyes

A win will tell us that we are a decent side (but we already know that) as yet untested against the better sides (but we already know that too).

A loss would tell us that we can be beaten on an off day by a decent side (but we already know that, courtesy of Richmond, Adelaide and Geelong).

A win would also tell us that GWS can be beaten by a decent side like us (which we already know), and a loss would also tell us that GWS can beat a decent side (which we already know).

So what can today tell us that we don't already know? Nothing really. It's all about the four points. Nothing else, just the four points - and if you think four points aren't important in a season where we are in finals contention, you haven't got a clue about football.

^^Agree. One off games don't tell you much anyway, and this one against an unproven opponent was less significant still, even if it was a flogging.

What it has done is continue to confirm our genuine finals prospects, nothing more.
