Not happy with two debutants against the reigning premiers.

Deer in headlights is always a concern.

'Team Sheet' is calling the inclusion of Maynard and Moore "a new chapter in Collingwood's rich history".

They'll want him cherry ripe for the Port game, 6 day break and home state, makes sense

I reckon we'll have to consider bringing him back via the VFL now.

named in the vfl.

Plus Hawks don’t have Strong Ruck Duo

I'm guessing Grundy wont play VFL either.

Reid to miss also I assume.

The VFL side has taken a hit but Seedsman should look a class above at that level.

Grundy is named in the VFL Side

I'm rapt to see both Maynard and Moore debut. I'm a little surprised Grundy did not get a recall, but I think it's a pointer to the future, that for most games we're a better balanced side with just the one main ruckman. Playing both rucks was good for their development when we were using this season to get experience into our young players, but now we've switched our focus to getting a top 4 berth, we have to pick our absolute best team from now on. Regardless of how well Moore plays, having 3 genuine tall forwards will stretch the Hawks defence and open up opportunities for Cloke. I'm excited. Smile

I think it's only supporters who have shifted focus, I doubt the club was aiming for anything less than finals and hopefully a top 4. Think the dual ruck option will resume as soon as next week, just being conservative with Grundy this week.

Very interested to see how they get on with 2 first gamers in there.
How good would it be to win this one?

Goldsack injured/out of form.

Seedsman out of form.

Reid re-injured.

Grundy and Greenwood not quite ready to resume.

Not many experienced options left to come in anyway so I'm glad we've taken the development route with selection and with Roughead and Frawley out the hawks are a little more vulnerable now than they would have been.

All I know is if the hawks try to rough up Moore then Cloke and Co. better wipe out that mindset quick smart.

If they try to rough up MaynHARD they might get a nasty surprise.

Moore is a tall target who will put enormous defensive pressure on Hawthorn. Even if he doesn't kick many goals he will still be valuable forward. If he starts marking the ball it is going to force Gibson to mind someone or force them to use Stratton on Moore. Could work out well for us. I am very surprised Spangher is selected. His ankle will probably be duct taped and dipped in concrete before he goes out there.
