Post subject: Watching the game(s) overseas? | |
|
Hi guys, over in Europe for the next few weeks. Thought I could manage without the pies but it turns out I was wrong. Anyone know the easiest way to watch for free in iPad or PC? Happy to wait a few hours for a replay as that works better with the timezone here anyway
Have tried my FOXTEL GO but of course that won't work outside of Aus..any help would be much appreciated! |

I used the AFL live app through Europe last year... both for live matches and replays (straight after encoding)... no complaints. |

Did that cost anything? It's making me pay for that live global pass thing..? |

Leon, I think the Live global pass is worth the price - it's about $25 for a month, live games and unlimited replay, and it works really well for Ipad or Computer. the live streams give you a good chance of getting a virus and often don't work that well. The Live pass on www.watchafl.com.au is excellent and as long as you have a reasonable data feed, it's a great product.
And no, i have no affiliation with the producers - I'm just delighted that i can finally watch the Pies properly despite not being able to live in Australia. |

Thanks for the reply. How soon after the match are the replays available? |

Usually the first quarter has been loaded within an hour of game over, and by the time i've finished watching that, the second quarter is up, and so on, etc. it can vary, but i've never had to wait more than two hours.
The only glitch i get is that the replay on an ipad seems to freeze every 7 minutes, and it take about 20 secs of manual effort to reload. That's annoying, but it does not happen on a PC.
There really isn't a better way, in my long experience of trying to watch overseas. Good luck, whatever you do. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

Where are you off to leonmagic? I'm off to London, Paris and Rome as of the 14th and was looking for answers to this dilemma myself. _________________ The only stat that matters is whether you win or lose. |
