We don't need to put the boots in, it looks apparent Geelong will do that for us. Razz Wink

We shouldn't laugh too loud... I was there at VP in 1993, and I'm sure it was also his last game before that fukken thing Matthews retired him the following pre-season?

Yes, we recruited Brad Plain. Where, with a star like that, would Daics have fitted? Shocked

It was courageous effort from Matthews because, in his last full game for Collingwood (his 247th, in round 2 of 193), he kicked 8.1 against Geelong.

Football really hasn't been the same, since. He was the last player that I went to the football to watch, come what may.

The only player apart from Daics who I just wanted to watch was GAblett snr. Daics could do stuff that other people couldn't, and make it look easy.

GAblett did stuff that just made you think "did i see that?" And it wasn't all skill and finesse. I took a kid to the G to play Vic kick at half time when Geelong vs fuckifIknow was the main game. I'll remember this till the day I die, GAblett led out from FF with an opposition player on each arm. He read the flight of the ball, put his arms out and stopped. Then he threw his arms backward and sent an opposition player flying backwards from each arm, marked the bal uncontested in front of his eyes and kicked the goal.

A full forward line of Daicos, Lockett and GAblett would be worth going to watch.
