Something Barrett said on radio got me to thinking, he said we're brokering a deal with Carlton to help land us AT, so anyway I was racking my brain thinking how could or would Carlton possibly help us, then it hit me, we'll be helping each other, here's how.
Kruz isn't worth 600k a year, but for the scum to get band 1 compo that's what he'll have to get, so, we give him the 600kpa triggering band 1 for the scum (pick 2), we then trade our pick 8 and a couple of fringe players for that pick 2, we then send pick 2 to GWS for AT.
Might sound like Carlton are being shafted, but, if they didn't agree to it they would be stuck with a second rounder for Kruz, everyone's a winner. _________________ Defender...........

Yes, but we get AT for our first rounder and a couple of steak knives, we'll be looking at much more than that without this deal. _________________ Defender...........

Carlton are the world's biggest cheats and have no principles. What's to stop them from keeping pick 2 and telling us to stick it once Kruezer has been signed?
Remember when they were trading Fev and they said that Collingwood would need to pay twice as much as any other team before they'd deal with us. |

Yes it is a pickle, and it would require trust on our part. _________________ Defender...........

Well I give you credit for thinking outside the box.
In this scenario though I'd rather....
Pick 7 and Freeman for pick 2.
Keep Pick 2 for Schache.
Trade *2016 1st round, 2015 2rd round and Witts (player or pick attained) for Treloar and Hampton.
*A 2015 first round selection will carry more weight with GWS than our 2016 one given no one knows where it may end up. Most likely outside the top 10. As such the cost in trade will be a little greater. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

I think Schache will be pick 1 whether it's Carlton or Brisbane, he's got more upside than Weitering IMO.
This idea might actually work better if Brisbane get pick 1 and Carlton get 2 and 3 though. If we're losing Freeman, we probably need to replace him with another outside runner and Darcy Parish looks like a ripper. Aaron Francis worth a look too, as I reckon he could become a Jake Stringer type and can also play through the middle.
Let the crap clubs take the talls and we'll take the next best available at pick 3. |
