Been Intresting that in the last 2 Pre-Seasons Bucks has gone to Bali and come back with New Pies in:
Travis Varcoe
Levi Greenwood
Jeremy Howe
He is doing a very good Job there and also got us
Taylor Adams
Adam Treloar
Thru his U-16 Coaching Job he did with Vic Country.
Got some Guns There.
I say we recruited better Players with Bucks as coach then MM was Coach _________________ I am Da Man |

We certainly seem to be poaching more cattle under Bux.
But as they say MM had more hat than cattle! _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

Absolutely. Taking nothing away from dekker, but bucks has been a more than handy carrot to pull off some big signings.
Mick on the other hand was not a great recruiter. Chad Morrison, Andrew Williams, and I dare say guys like McKee, Brent Hall and maybe Shackleton were his types... & in ten years I actually can't name one big name that he earmarked and delivered us. Cummings? If anyone has a story about him driving the Licuria or Clement recruitment... I'll happily eat my words |

Yeah, don't knock MM in the big stakes recruiting cause he (or the recruiting team) basically recruited us the last three pieces of the 2010 flag puzzle.
It looks like Bucks aims to recruit younger players or a different type though, less role players, more players with potential who maybe haven't succeed at their previous club for whatever reason.

Bally coulda gone anywhere and I do think Mick was a big factor.
Jolly was moving to melb and we had the cash and position available to play the primary ruck role.
Leroy though was drafted late - no-one else wanted him. It Was a great and smart selection but not really a steal from another club.
FWIW I think the work to get Aish was done the year before with the Beams trade - Lions were just too stupid to realise. _________________ "Even when Im old and gray, I wont be able to play but Ill still love the game"

From memory, didn't Malthouse coach Clement in an interstate match so would have well been aware of his capabilities when he came to Collingwood? Difficult to believe that Malthouse wouldn't have been consulted about the decision to recruit Leigh Brown. Credit also to Malthouse for playing Clement in an attacking role from the full back line (with Waklein playing the negative role) after Clement had been tried as a forward and for playing Brown in a forward/ruck role after Brown had mostly failed as a half back. |

Medders would have had a bit to do with Mick, you'd think so anyway considering Medders carved us up a couple of years prior. _________________ Defender...........
