7 pages and not one crucifixion pun regarding inevitable umpiring bias towards us on a good friday game. Disappointing nicksters!

Are those pod things any good?

Aren't they a bit hard to access?

Got the pod on clearance at Repco. Walked in not looking for anything and walked out with a pod.

In retrospect, probably didn't need it, hence the need to find a place to store the thing as it has a big footprint and takes up too much space on the floor. Up on the roof though works well and it can be lowered onto the roof racks.

It's useful for storing xmas stuff (garden lights, ornaments etc)

Well it appears that Good Friday footy will happen next year with a 4pm start time. The AFL is just deciding on who will play....

St Kilda and the Bulldogs have submitted a proposal outlining a case for them both to be a permanent fixture.

Unfortunately my source was a news item that appeared in my RSS feed which was deleted quick smart (presumably by the AFL gestapo).

Yeah, was a news item on it. About 5 teams in contention apparently. Surely a Saints v Demons fixture is apt.

If it's about raising money for the kids then surely we have to be involved.

Who will draw a crowd: Pies, Bombers, Blues, Tigers, Hawks, Cats.

Well it cant be Hawks or Cats as they have Easter Monday.

Wont be Collingwood or Essendon as the people would lose their minds.

Richmond Vs Carlton is the season opener. Perhaps one of these vs someone?

Doesn't really leave much does it.

Who wants it? Roos, Dogs and Saints? Big crowd drawers there.

Still, at least they'll be something to watch on the day. Over here in the UK, everything is open like a normal day.

If the AFL goes saints vs 'dogs I can sense a North Melbourne whinge coming. It'd be good with 2 smaller clubs having a blockbuster opportunity though and interesting to see if they can build and sustain the huge crowds we see elsewhere.

North Melbourne likely to whinge even if they get the nod.

As I understand it they are talking about hosting the game at Etihad so low crowd drawing teams would seem appropriate.

Why not time the Women's competition to culminate in a Good Friday Grand Final??

This 'raising money for the kids' excuse to have GF footy is a total croc. Can raise money for them at any game over this period.
Wish the AFL had backbone and refused to play any footy of GF day. People deserve this day off, players, administrators, pie sellers, etc etc. Just because the NRL do it is no excuse either - they do lots of things I hope we never do!
Is nothing sacred!

True. North will be upset if it goes to Saints/Dogs.

I guess the "Saints" fits the day, and they could wear that 1997 top with the cross on it.

But the Roos have been asking for some kind of blockbuster for a while.

Which is the more appealing:

Satins V Dogs?

Dogs V Roos?

Roos V Saints?

Ive had a bit of change of heart. I'd like to see the poorer clubs get a blockbuster day so they can STFU about Anzac Day.
