raw hammer's post about the french soccer team and the benny hill music got me thinking. as a tribute to something else raw hammer said the other day about things being unfair, i thought i would try to lighten the mood.
with acknowledgement and apologies to garry frost and frances swan's original lyrics ...

moving pictures: what about me
Quote: | Well, there's a little boy waitin' in the stands of the MCG
He's been waitin' up there, waitin' half the day
They never ever see him up the top
Hes heard the excuse
Yells his abuse
He gets to his feet and he says
"What about me? It isn't fair
I've had enough now, I want my share
Can't you see? I wanna believe
But they just take more than they give"
Well, there's a new midfield standin' near the centre of the MCG
Theyve been waitin' back there, waitin' for the ball
And Saints walk in and out, they never stop
Well, those in the crowd will cry out loud
They turn to Nicks forum and they scream
"What about me? It isn't fair
I've had enough now, I want my share
Can't you see? I wanna believe
But they just take more than they give"
(More than they give)
Take a step back and see so for yourself
They might be young, but they're the ones
that are meant to be our future
So listen, as I despair:
"What about me?"
And now I'm standing on level four, all the crowd's gone home
Not one thing's changed, the game plans the same
And I'm feeling cold and alone
I guess I'm unlucky, I support the Pies
And sometimes I wish for more than I've got...
What about me? It isn't fair
I've had enough now, I want my share
Can't you see? I wanna believe
But they just take more, what about me?
It isn't fair, I've had enough now, I want my share
Can't you see? I wanna believe
But they just take more, they just take more
They just take more than they give
What about me?
What about me?
What about me? |

Alright I want in on the action too, so here's my contribution. You can sing along to the tune of 'Road to Nowhere by The Talking Heads. Kinda sums up the feeling at the moment.
Well we dont know where we're goin'
And we dont know where we've been
And the injury toll is mounting
Its the worst weve ever seen
And we're not crazy Nickters
But Buckleys not what we want
Cos the gameplans uncertain
By next week hell be gone
[Chorus:]
We're on a road to nowhere
Come on lets slide
Down the ladder to nowhere
With Buckley our guide
I'm feelin' okay this mornin'
no more scandals,
We're on the road to nowhere
will Buckley go, Will Buckley go
[Chorus]
We're on a road to nowhere
Come on lets slide
Down the ladder to nowhere
With Buckley our guide
Maybe you wonder where you are
The players don't care
Bucks ruined a premiership side
It's not fair...It's not fair
We're on a road to nowhere
We're on a road to nowhere
We're on a road to nowhere
There's finals on my mind
Come along and take that ride
And it's all right, Buckley, it's all right
But the top 8 is very far away
it's growing farther day by day
And it's all right, Buckley, it's all right
Robbo can tell you what to do
and Nicks will make a fool of you
And it's all right, Buckley, it's all right
We're on a road to nowhere |

it wasn't about having a crack at the pies or buckley, more so having a bit of light-hearted fun with something raw hammer said. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle.
