Cloke in for Moore is an upgrade. Our best tall forward returning is a big plus.

The loss of Fasolo and Adams though is real cause for concern. Forward line, even with Cloke's return, now looks thin. I guess we'll need to play Varcoe forward, maybe Sinclair, Howe's form in defense may be too good for him to be moved. I had thought Caff may have come in to play forward, but not like he's a prolific goal scorer anyway.

Port would have to be slightly favoured for this game, we'll need to have decent midfield dominance to win it.

We played Witts & Grundy along with Cloke and White last time we played Port and that night it was raining and very wet, the side was too top heavy and got overrun in the 1st quarter, which cost us the game.

With the recent downpour and the MCG being chopped up today, we have a side with Grundy, Cox along with Cloke and White. The side again is too top heavy.

The coach and the selection committee keep on repeating the same mistakes.

Name a team that doesn't have at least five big men in it. Can't think of anyone playing without a big ruckman, FF, CHF, CHB & FB. Add Reid to our mix and you've named them all.

Grundy is perfect for the wet, ditto Cloke, White can run, Reid is good in any weather. I suspect it will be a rude awakening for Cox, but his tap work high or low is pretty damn good.

Port have a very small team. Their mobility will be the deciding factor tomorrow on a wet deck.

They only have 4 bonafide talls. We have 6.

I'm in East Melbourne near the MCG and it hasn't stopped raining. It is sheer madness to go in 3 talls in the forward line, their defence will have a field day.

And the MCG has the best drainage system of any ground in Australia. Cox and White are both good below the knees and Cloke is a mobile forward who can work up the ground. Complete non-issue in my view but keep up the vitriol because if we lose, some people will be looking for excuses or scapegoats to blame.

The drainage of the MCG has nothing to do with it. It is expected to rain throughout the entire game tomorrow.

I'll rehash this observation post game.

I think the midfield will also likely have to kick a decent bag of goals for us to be competitive.

Could depend on the weather. A wet, low scoring game may suit us.

Agree, if the mids can't hit the scoreboard we'll struggle. Having a few big bodied talls throwing their weight around might create some opportunities.

Glad you admit he brings some wisdom to the table because I have never seen any from you.
Keep mocking people because you are an expert at it.
