Brown and Goodyear training with the VFL Pies tonight.

Source? Vision on the Channel 7 news just a moment ago. They usually tweet the segment later on. I'll see if I can find it...

So I'll just say again. How does Frost get a game ahead of Brown? What do the professionals at the CFC see that I don't see?

i saw that too. that would suggest phillips plays. greenwood on the bench over goody makes sense. sinkers and witts to play, marsh the carry over at a guess.

Phillips being named on a wing was a pretty reliable indicator in the first place.

I really can't see 3 slow 200cm+ talls in the same side being a winner. But whatever...

indeed it is but it's still no ironclad guarantee.

You know, this Cloke decision has really angered me. Side by Side is a verse in our song. Big Clokey comes in on a wet day that didn't suit forwards and did as much as he could. He was by far not our worst player. Next week the coach makes him a scapegoat by dropping him. So much for side by side.

I can't remember a player who has been scapegoated as much by his coach as BT in 1990. Nathan Buckley is not living our values of side by side.

Yawn!

Different name, same Jez agenda.

Looks like it - BrianB can you definitely confirm that you are not Jez or Gonzalo of JamesJ or the WolfBoy ?

He may well be Jez under another name, but how about a reply to his specific points, which all seem valid to me? There is just no fair or rational reason why Cloke was dropped. therefore, there must be an alternative, as yet undisclosed, agenda.

So you believe the club has team selection by scapegoating?

You believe Buckley does not have the best interests of Collingwood at heart? That he doesn't espouse the values of our great club?

Exactly what were these valid points?

Valid points for which there can be absolutely no argument were: that Cloke was playing under very unfavourable conditions and did as much as he could. Was by no means our worst player.
Yet he was dropped, even when we have almost all our key forwards out.
What the agenda/motivation is, I do not know. But the criterion of form is clearly not the one being used, because if it were, others should have been dropped before Cloke.

He's suffered one final humiliation, tonight - he's been made to train in White's number 9 jumper.

Yep, it was wet, not a great day for talls. So which tall forward did he out perform? I can't think of any. So do we drop Cox or White when they've played better than him? Do we drop Frost and allow Cloke to play FB?

Witts has been among our best at VFL level for a number of weeks and likely was more deserving of a senior game last week than Cloke, it appears they thought he needed another run in the 2s.

I've given my opinion on multiple occasions in multiple threads and there are multiple arguments you can make in support of the decision or against it, yet Jez opts for "scapegoating". Seriously.
