Wills' debut brings us to 39 players taking the field for the club this season. Since the late '80s, our most players used in a single season was 40, in 2013. Any chance we could break that this year?

These are the players left:

Jamie Elliott (injured)
Matt Scharenberg (injured)
Brayden Sier
Tim Golds (rookie)
Darrean Wyatt (rookie)

Have I missed anyone? Gotta say Sier seems the only one remotely likely to play out of that list. How's Elliott's recovery going?

I think Elliott is nearly up to lying straight in bed, unassisted - I think Balmey said something to the effect that Elliott's "progressing nicely", so I'm just trying to put a little flesh on the bones of what that might mean.

I'm very much looking forward to Timmy's first game. He's a star in the making.

I think your definition of "remotely likely" is a little bit generous. Sier is literally the least likely of the entire list to play seniors (yes, even behind Wyatt). Struggles to run out games, struggles to run out on the park. Broken hand, concussion, now a back problem suffered during a workout.

If anybody, I'd say Golds is the most likely to play seniors. And he's almost as far away from playing as Sier is, given he's flat out cracking into double-digits for disposals playing as much on a wing as a half back flank in the VFL...

Might play next week, might not. Might never play again, but we'll have to hopefully wait and see...

And there was absolutely no need to use so many players, the younger players don't know what's going on, in one week, out the next and replaced by someone who had inferior VFL form 2 weeks earlier, rince and repeat.

Yes he's played the kids but he hasn't given them a chance, pick the best kid and stick by him for 4 weeks then drop him if need be, not having a settled lineup has a hell of a lot to do with Buckley's selections, and that's just one of the many areas the bloke is completely incompetent in.

After 5 years, Bucks still doesn't know what his best team looks like. Yes, injuries have played their part, but like I've said before, is rather 25 x 7/10, 8/10 and 9/10 players vs 35 x 6/10 players. Our 'depth' is mediocre. Not great, but rubbish, but middle of the road. But soon enough we have to decide what our core 25 players is and play them, only bringing in 'depth' due to injuries.

Thomas and Keeffe certainly aren't going to be the 40th.

Elliott won't play this year and Sier is far away from making a senior appearance.

I don't think we will see any new faces for the rest of the year. I'm glad Wills has a chance because he's been consistently good in the reserves.

Does Scotty Burns count as a "new face" if he comes in as caretaker for the last couple of games?
