I don't get it.
I keep hearing and reading how we're supposedly ready to throw a metric shitload of money at a 22 year old midfielder who doesn't seem to me to have any standout characteristics to justify this.
Physically he's the same size as Fasolo and Adams. Not exactly big.
Is he lightening by foot?
Is he a ball magnet?
Does he have special skills?
WTF is it about this kid that has so many supporters busting a nut over him? I just don't get it. He looks like a good but not great mid. A middle tier player in a good midfield. IMHO we already have plenty of options in this area, If we're going to pay the kind of touted money for a midfielder I want a rolled gold certified gun for it. He doesn't look it to me.
So tell me - WHY TRELOAR? _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

When he gets the ball he can bloody well
use it properly.
As someone said about Rioli, he may only get it 15
or so times but it is what he does with it that makes the
difference. _________________ we don't eat our own at collingwood we just allow them to foul our nest. |

He gets a lot more ball than Cyril.
Yes he has a good disposal rate but effective disposals per game he's currently 12th in the league.
For comparison Pendles is equal 4, Beams is 13 and Sidey is 23.
If you go on disposal efficiency % he doesn't make the top 100 players.
Give me facts not just repeated perception. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

He's 12th in the league for average possession and number 1 for GWS.
He's Adams with all the kinks ironed out and will provide us with that one extra quality mid we probably need to bridge the gap.
Get Freeman right, add in Treloar and the continual improvement of de Goey, Adams, Crisp, Broomhead etc then our midfield is looking very good going forward. _________________ He's mad. He's bad. He's MaynHARD! |

anyone who snags treloar will be paying overs but that's the marketplace we have at the moment. i would have preferred shiel but he's just been re-signed. _________________ Purveyor of sanctimonious twaddle. |

5.1 tackles per game is also pretty notable. Equal with Pendles and better than Adams |

It's gilding the lilly when the rose bush is dying guys.
The only problem with our midfield is that the ball keeps rebounding from our forward line.
Fix the forward line, fix the - percieved - flaws in the midfield.
We don't need to sell the farm for ANOTHER mid - no matter how highly rated - but we desperately need another mobile and accurate KPF right NOW. |

he's 12th so he's not that special. He's a slightly faster Adams with better disposal. Is that worth the kind of coin plus the draft picks/players we'd need to trade to get him? That's a serious investment, you want something serious in return.
I'm a long way from convinced that he's it. I'd rather look at how we can get Weideman in the draft or trade for someone similar. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Adam Treloar would be regarded in the top 6 young mids (21 and under)in the league from all the scribes. Would sit comfortably next to:
J Macrae
D Shiel
L Parker
J O'Meara
O Wines
Suggest the knockers watch more footy. He is a gun and we should welcome the chance to get him _________________ I love the Pies, hate Carlscum |
