That confected song thingy was horrible. We aren’t doing well on field, but do we have to make a laughing stock of ourselves off field as well?
Lucky it was only GWS witnessing how lame it was. Imagine if they tried it in front of a crowd half filled with Richmond, Essendon or Carlton supporters !
I take it a group with some authority within the club met, discussed the idea and come up with that.
Whoever they are, they should all be immediately removed from any positions of authority at our club. |

Sadly, we're copying Port's ideas now. That tells you how far we have fallen.
Membership and attendance have plummeted too. _________________ Fighting against the objectification of woman. |

We now have the rights to play another Metallica song, "Enter Sandman" just before NB's press conferences. |

They could have chosen Money for Nothin’, you get two for the price one when you show the band name up on the big screen _________________ I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody. |

Let's hope they don't go with The Sex Pistols' No Future
In all seriousness, I'm a Liverpool fan as well and would love us to embrace You'll Never Walk Alone as our secondary anthem. It's incredibly emotional to hear it sung by a large crowd and its title resonates with our motto Side By Side.
FWIW, both clubs were formed in 1892.
Singing starts around the 4 minute mark.

Metallica did a cover of "So What" that was pretty jazzy and would fit in nicely with the wider population's perception of us. Yeah the language is a bit blue but I could imagine when we have risen back to prominence, a crowd of 60k+ shouting "Who cares" in amongst the profanity and adult themes would really set the tone for the night. It'd show up the whole "Yellow and Black" thing as being a bit half arsed really.
Get feral. Make the oppo really fear playing us. |

It’s the only anthem used by another team that sends chills down my spine, and I’m not even a Liverpool supporter. The lyrics work well in a football-is-Life kind of way, it’s a great song for massed voices. So I’d be very happy to do that if we must have an alternative song - but I think the chances of it being adopted are nil, sadly. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

The two best team anthems are Liverpool’s You’ll Never Walk Alone and this one - Scottish club Hibernian’s Sunshine on Leith.
Liverpool’s song was a hit for a Merseyside group, so it resonates as a “local” song with a great message of sticking together in tough times.
Hibernian’s song was written by Scots, who are Hibernian fans and the song mentions Leith and that’s where Hibernian’s ground is located. So it’s completely adopted by all fans as it ticks all the boxes.
It’s theme is also an anthem of thanks for sticking together. “While I’m worth my room on this earth, I will be with you”. A great line for football supporters.
If we are going for a mass anthem then at least pick a decent one!
