So dumb. Was at the game on Sunday, can confirm most people had no clue what was happening and if they did they didnt care, no ones ever getting on board with this. Just run through the banner, do some drills, bounce the bloody pill and go. Simple. _________________ Tear the roof off tha sucker!!! |

In all seriousness, I'm a Liverpool fan as well and would love us to embrace You'll Never Walk Alone as our secondary anthem. It's incredibly emotional to hear it sung by a large crowd and its title resonates with our motto Side By Side.
FWIW, both clubs were formed in 1892.
Singing starts around the 4 minute mark.

Its the only anthem used by another team that sends chills down my spine, and Im not even a Liverpool supporter. The lyrics work well in a football-is-Life kind of way, its a great song for massed voices. So Id be very happy to do that if we must have an alternative song - but I think the chances of it being adopted are nil, sadly. |
No. just No.
I'd prefer something like this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o3W5ngVTtRE
Even though no one would know this, they could join in the chorus. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_MyA7flm5A8 |
The fact that we have such different reactions shows the problem with the whole concept. There is one song that unites us, to the tune of Goodbye Dolly Gray. We should use it.
Liked the chorus of the Highwayman, but eek - it's Country and Western, and we're not American - so no. Lyrics do work, though, don't they ? _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

Maybe some Hit Em Up by Tupac Shakur would get people talking. _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

Nothing wrong with Country and Western, I was raised on it yet have broad tastes in what music I like, regardless of genre. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

I have eccentric tastes in music but I can respect good country and western - its just that its a truly American form and we have enough Murrikan influences, thanks. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

Pre match entertainment in some form works for some clubs and doesn't for others. Metallica is a massive fail and now even the Pres has denied any involvement. Hopefully it's dead and buried. I attended Swans V Port over the weekend and the entertainment before the game is full on. They sing Sweet Caroline and the 30k plus crowd got right into it. As a Victorian I just want the game to start but the audience up there want entertainment. Crowd interaction is full on and works up in Sydney and in saying that I believe it won't work in Melbourne. |

Your club might be, Dave. Mine is not. Side by side with Collingwood. I know you have issues, but please do not insult the Collingwood Football Club as you have above. If you do, you should expect a hard time from those of us who love it. _________________ Two more flags before I die! |

So is this still a thing? Or have we dropped Metallica in 2019? _________________ A Goal Saved Is 2 Goals Earned! |

I enjoyed the Metallica song. Was a bit perplexed when we started using it but it grew on me and I thought it was growing on us all but alas they have pulled it.
However THIS is my favourite of all time - if we could only re create it!!
Turn up the sound, put it in full screen and enjoy the show!!
