Was Degoey injured late or was he taken off as a precaution?

Fox commentary adamant Buckley took him off for precaution, good idea.

Said he had no trouble cruising the boundary line and engaging with crowd after the game.

Did the same thing last week when the game was all over.

Sensible precaution.

The radio claim was that he complained to the medicos and it seems to be cramp. (Don't think about what it meant last time there was "cramp".)

He should probably have been taken off earlier, once the lead passed 4 goals.

Yep, we are managing him through the rest of the season. Wouldn't be surprised if he is doing minimal work during the week.

If Freo put in another effort like they did today, we may take him off at half time next week.

He was limping after a clash in the forward line.
Went off immediately.
But he run off albeit slowly but did not return to the game.

Footy gods, please allow him to be fit enough to last our season, whenever that might end.
It's an absolute luxury we have to be able to switch him onto the ball, when it looks like we're going down down in the centre clearances.

The CFC website is saying no problems in the Medical Room. Do we believe them? Smile

Absolutely. Sier ha been a revelation in the centre, but De Goey is the only player in the league who can start at FF and do damage, then be thrown into the midfield when needed and cause carnage. Kid is good.

Martin and Dangerfield and on the next level Bont. De Goey not on their level just yet but has a serious impact.

we also took Varcoe off for the last 10 minutes of the game. Are we finally getting smart???

Let's keep guys likely to suffer fatigue injuries from suffering from exertion while overly fatigued. Cant't hurt.

DeGoey did look proppy down forward late in the game. As others have noted, seems he's being managed. Training was pretty light for all players on Tuesday. De Goey was one of the last to leave, have practiced a lot of snap shot goal kicking, so he's not too bad I don't think.
He walked on the field without ice on his leg at the end of the game. So nothing too serious enough to threaten his place in our first final game, particularly after a week off.

It was reported that de Goey after the game, ran to the boundary line to hand off a footy and sign autographs and be included in selfies.
