I saw the roughing the passer last week on Matthews and thought it was a crook of shit
This new rule were you tackle them as there throwing it then fall in them that's now called roughing the passer
It's ridiculous really Rodgers has come out and said so as well |
The one this week saw the Pack’s coach lose the plot completely. I’ve got to say, it’s a bit of a struggle to see the new penalty as merited. |

| McCarthy sacked. Not before time. One accidental Super Bowl victory (from 6th) in 13 seasons with the two greatest QBs of all time is a poor return. If Rodgers played for the Pats, they would probably never lose a game. |

Rodgers would be great at the Pat's
He could chauffeur Brady around, walk his dog, fill his water bottle, tie his shoes and let Brady worry about winning Super Bowls something he does well
McCarthy days have been numbered for a couple seasons
He's been skating under the radar for a while
The packers problem is they don't give Rodgers the protection and weapons he needs to be successful |

I doubt Rodgers presence as a ball holder would have propelled the Pats and Brady to 10 Super Bowls in a row but as a holder he would have been semi important to there success
Brady as the GOAT has always valued all his team mates no matter how little importance they contribute so I guess Rodgers would have got a ring each time Brady led them to the promised land |

On a side note ole mate in 1994/95 when I was working for the Brisbane Broncos we had a exchange of information program with the Denver Broncos
We arrived in LA and then went to Vegas for a few days before heading to Colorado
Mr Bowlen the owner sent his private jet to collect us something we weren't used too
We toured mile high stadium and I spent several hours discussing there draft planning, salary cap management, roster management and different facets of squad structure
It was at the time super league had launched in rugby league and they were at the time planning to basically take the NRL and make it a American version including live drafting etc similar to the what the AFL does now
We took some match footage of our games and showed them to different coaches of there's and players
I was sitting in there media room whilst one of our assistant coaches took them through some footage and was seated next to a couple defensive tackles
6ft 3" 300+ lb guys who were cringing with the contact
They were asking where's your helmets and padding etc
Couldn't believe how blokes this size would actually think they would get hurt without all the gear on
On our last night Mr Bowlen invited us to his ranch for dinner along with a couple of coaches and a few players
As we were mingling around the pool area one of the coaches says oh John's here
Here comes this guy around 6ft2" walking like he owned the world
Yes it was the great John Elway
Shock his hand and mine basically disappeared into his
Over dinner we discussed many topics
One of the guys next to me was in personal management basically meaning he was responsible for payroll management
He said what's your annual operating budget for the your organisation
I said it would be around $3 million
He said no for all the players coaches as well I said yes around $3 million
He said wow that wouldn't pay our quarter back let alone anyone else
Elway was a very generous man with his time
Took time out to talk to us all and we each received s signed Broncos jersey and then Mr Bowlen arranged for us to take his private jet back to LA for our trip home
Talk about feeling like rock stars
But it was just how they travelled there |

And the Pats give Miami 7 seconds to score from 70 yards and they hit a pass then 3 laterals later they score
Was the Pats chance to go 10-3 secure the division for the 11th straight year and have at least 10 or more wins in 16 straight seasons
P4S the new coach at greenbay starts off with a win
Interesting to see if they go out in the off season and load up on some players |

Brady was drafted 199 a compensation pick really
He was out of the university of Michigan but wasn't a 4 year starter(which at the time was a sort of base line for drafting QB's with high picks) and wasn't a leader of there program
It's a interesting question really as there were only 5 QB's taken before him all of whom didn't have anything like his career
Different eras align to diffent thinking from scouts and I'm guessing most the teams at that stage had settled QB's and were only looking for backups at best and filling other gaps they had on there rosters
Drew Bledsoe was at the Pats when Brady arrived and seen as a MVP type player until injury struck
Many commentators ask this question
Is Brady that good or is it the system that makes him that good ? |

New England reach there 8th consecutive conference final and play Kansas City
Under dogs for only the 2nd time in the Brady era
New Orleans Saints play the LA Rams in the other conference final
Both games will be the battles on the QB's
Brady the GOAT v Mahomes the MVP co favourite in only his second season
Bree's the co MVP favoutire and veteran playing under the dome v Goff the 3rd year player who seems to have ice in his veins
Hard to go against the Saint's at home in the dome
The other game isn't as easy to pick but I'll go for the GOAT in Brady
Superbowl will be then Saints v New England in a battle of the veterans QB's |
