OK all you smart nicksters - Ned Guy needs our help! He's obviously about to engage in a three week drinking binge after bringing Beams back to he club but he needs another 500 odd draft pick points in the 2018 draft so we DON'T go into deficit (based on a loose assumption of needing about 1550 points for Quaynor and Kelly). You can't trade future picks (cause we've already traded our first round pick) so we need to turn picks 41, 44, 51 and 57 into about 500 more points.

Pick 41 = 412
Pick 44 = 362
Pick 51 = 259
Pick 57 = 0 points (I think) due to being a FA compo pick

I'll start - I guess I'd target teams who aren't likely to use all their picks - North Melbourne have 6 third rounders FFS - what about offering picks 44 and 57 for 49, 55 and 58 ( 362 points to get 663 points = 299 points positive) - only 200 more to go!

In reality - given we don't need to trade til draft night, if Quaynor is bid on early and we're going ot go into deficit no matter what, we could swap pick 57 and 58 with North and they lose NOTHING cause we're not going to use pick 57 on a player anyway! Same as if we take picks 47,48 or 49 - they're worth the same to NM because we're not going to use them for players! Madness!

Find Ned 200 more points Nicksters! Go!!

- Ben

North will use those picks as they have several NGA/FS guys. That's why they traded for them!

Ahh true MM - don't tell North that though or they might not accept our offer! OK - back to needing 500 points guys, blast you MightyMagpie and your ruthless logic!

This is all way too complex - get f&cked AFL; the sooner you are taken to court for restraint of trade, the better.

I've resigned myself to never understanding this points system. Think I'd rather watch paint grow.

Geelong picks 50, 59 and 60 (477 points) for pick 44 (362) = 115 points
and WC pick 61 for our pick 57 (135 points) = 245 points total

MM - if we trade pick 57 do the next team get to use the points?

Clubs who need to stockpile “ big “ points include North, Swans and Bulldogs.
You won’t get any love from them.

So what position in the draft are you expecting Quaynor and Kellys names to be called out ( to come up with your 1550 points )

Geelong - Oscar Browless and likely third round selection

The same as the NRL; which as you know, is run like a dog's breakfast with players nominating who they'll be playing for the following season, despite currently representing a different club, without any remorse whatsoever.

Ironically, they haven't had one team win successive premierships in over 20 years, yet it's rampant in the AFL during the same period. Go figure...

Pies 2016 - based on Callum Twomeys phantom draft, pick 14 and 24. Not accurate (better phantoms will come out in the next couple of weeks) but probably the best we have at the moment

If I sell you a dog turd does it turn into gold?

No.

I've followed Cal up on the no points thing as I find the 56/57 thing very odd.

...

And, according to the propaganda, this is called "maturity".
