When does our sponsorship deal (inc Naming Rights to our Olympic Park HQ) finish with Holden?

Given they no longer manufacture their vehicles here, surely we can get a more lucrative sponsorship elsewhere.

It was a reported 5-year $10m sponsorship, so I guess it ends late 2020.
Emirates are not a local company either. Does that really affect how lucrative a deal we can get?

Right at the moment likely large corporate sponsors like Westpac and NAB are not in a position to counter these offers. Ironically GM transferred manufacturing to Thailand and the Thai baht is crazy and it may well end up biting them on the arse. I used to get 30 baht to the dollar and now 21 or 22. It might even get a lot worse. The upcoming federal election might hold the key to Holden having a decent market share.

Speaking of Emirates, I wonder how much Melb FC's sponsorship deal with China Southern Airlines is worth. These are not obvious sponsors if you think narrowly.

Holden are still a local company, they're just an importer now like plenty of others

And the Baht isn't going crazy, it's the Aussie peso
