One thing I'm taking from this is that West Coast are the better team. It hurts, but it's true. It cant be argued.

3 times last year. And Tonight. 3 times in a row at the MCG and of course the GF. All close-ish games, but we just simply need to get better.

Maybe it was us who almost stole the GF from the better team and caused the highway robbery upset?

Anyway, it can be put to rest that they are the better side.

Luckily we have another chance to get things right in 2019, and we'll need to. We started 1-2 last year and we'll have a lot of wins to look forward to this year as well. We have them later in the year in Perth. We'll see where we are at when that match arrives.

But for now... It'll be a tough week to be a Collingwood supporter. Cant wait to get to the next game. Friday night Vs the Dogs.

I'm coming down for the game against the Dogs, hoping tonight were simply outclassed and will bounce back on Friday night

Well said. We were poor tonight. I’m hoping we’ve just come up against two form sides and our mids with Beams and new look backs haven’t gelled yet. I hope!

Roughie looked a bit out of connection with the others (spoiled a certain mark to Howe, who almost got injured in the process).

It's a marathon, not a sprint.

2010 we got done by Saints and Cats early in the season. By the business end we had over taken them.

Long way to go.

Was concerned that our mids once again could not match their 2 way running. We look the goods on paper but got exposed again.

Didn’t like how they dominated Centre Bounces in the 2nd qtr especially to Grundy taps and our inability of our mids to read the ball, really got exposed with the new rule and the goals came quick. I thought we could have thrown De Goey in there for 10 mins to see if he could spark something.

Anyway how bad are Richmond and Melbourne going, they were top 4 certainties.

Yep. The central lesson from this game is how to improve our midfield's performance with the new rules, and the connection between Brodie and our mids. Clearly is in the process of perfection.
Richmond and Melbourne?? Richmond has won the same number of games as us, and Melbourne has only won one fewer.

I would like to see more rotations with starting mids.
We have a lot of players that can help share the load and we should use the depth we have... Jdg, Thomas, Maynard, even Stevo should be on the mid roster, joining treloar, adams, pendles and beams.
