The kick up the ass we needed. Hope it makes them lift that extra 5-10% and we smash the toffs. |

100% this
If we won today, I guarantee we lose to Melbourne
Now with the loss we will start to take shit seriously and win. |

We were well held. Our prime movers were nullified to a fair degree. This is a learning experience. Better to lose this week than next. We might come out angry next week and smash into Melbourne like we did last year. _________________ Get back on top. |

I hope Cox plays well in the VFL, because he should be a replacement for Mihocek. Brody's disposal was not at AFL standard today and it cost us plenty.
This loss was always coming, we have been ordinary for a few weeks now. Hopefully that wakes us up we start upping the tempo more frequently. |

Weak.... the kind of football front running romancers play, thank **** it's round whatever.
We need Cox at full forward, no excuses, he is critical to our success, only Stevie Wonder can't see that. _________________ Don't count the days, make the days count. |

I don't think it's just those players who were below par today - there was an odd feeling of listlessness/lack of concentration across the whole team - except Pendles, Mayne and JDG!! Poor disposal on occasions (eg Crisp) , fumbling, strange decisions. That could've been due to Freo's pressure and spirit (who by the way i believe are an up and coming side), or maybe they're just feeling a little tired. |

Sorry...Checkers goes and gets the ball. Sure, he can't kick a goal to save his life, but he is mobile and agile. Reid is the vulnerable one. Double digit possessions is a good day for Reid and he is useless in the ruck.
Reid and Beams should be booking a parking spot at the next few VFL venues. |

Could have.
Shouldn’t have.
Error ridden performance that looked like a win was a forgone conclusion.
Hoping it’s a slow build towards the end of the season. _________________ Living in Geelong, barracking for the 'pies! |

Been playing poorly for a month now and finally got what we deserved. It was only a matter of time before the switch was not able to be flicked. To think we can play for 3 or 3 1/2 quarters and win with 10 minutes of footy is not good enough and finally we have been made to pay. I for one was glad that we lost this game because we needed a kick in the pants, if we were to have fallen over the line again we would have continued to believe this type of nonsense football was ok.
Today we over used the handball, made sloppy errors continuously, were far too loose through the midfield with a dozen players or more drifting out of the game for very long periods. Need to be more direct and move with far more urgency. Just a real FIGJAM game and we needed to be brought back to earth.
I know it's only May/June but we need this team to develop a killer instinct, a ruthless edge. I would like to see it now and then, maybe every 3 weeks would be nice, just to show the comp that we are natural born killers but I am yet to see this. No team can play the Mr. Nice Guy role and take home the cup. Do we have this in us? Jury is still out. _________________ RED "BABY" CAVANAUGH: Didn't hear what the bet was.

Can’t believe Mihocek dropped that mark at the top of the goal square to seal the game. Unbelievable. He probably would have missed anyways. _________________ Est. 2002 |

Yeah, wouldn't drop Brody. He does so much great work up the ground and at ground level. He's usually a much better kick for goal. Ben was okay today too - at least he was accurate!!
I think that once again it was the mid-fielders, apart from Pendles, who failed to deliver. Sidey seemed really slow today. Phillips just wasn't in it. Treloar had very few effective disposals. Beamsy didn't have much influence, although he stopped a few Freo exits at ground level. Josh Thomas quite ineffectual sadly. |

Oh get your hand off it FFS. Let us rant and rave after a loss like pork chops. Christ, just pretend it’s banter at a pub and stop trying to interpret anything put online as certified written in stone gospel. _________________ Est. 2002 |
