What were the ICC rankings coming into the WC?

Are Oz crumbling under the pressure? I reckon there are few excuses for not winning a home WC. The home advantage is huge.

The last four overs, they could barely get the ball off the square. It felt like almost every shot was an attempted slog to leg.

I guess the one highlight for me was seeing a two-bounce no-ball would-be wicket (bowled -- and the fielders celebrated before the ruling). I reckon that maybe a first in my viewing.

The home team losing the first match in a World Cup is a time-honoured tradition in a raft of international sports.

Their lead-in slogathon performances against India, England, S. Africa were very shaky. Of course, if their ICC ranking is not high, then that is all understandable, but if they are ranked number 1...

Do other countries pump up their female cricketers like Oz does?

It feels a bit like Collingwood!
