It's a disgrace that the AFL hasn't already postponed the start of the season.

Reports are the AFL are in talks over either having no spectators at round games or cancelling the first few rounds and clubs supporters are going to be refunded.

No fans allowed at Aus GP. After a decision like this I think it is inevitable that AFL games, at a minimum, will be played behind closed doors.

I think that's wise.
Sports, Concerts, mass gatherings around the world are being cancelled left, right & centre.

Our School sent an e-Mail out to basically prepare for School to shut at a moments notice should CV presents itself.
With a few international students, its a given only a matter of time.
They're not waiting for Dan Andrews or some the Govt. Dept., to give them the green light.

I daresay the TV networks will be pushing hard to keep the games on air.

I've got a feeling we're going to win the flag this year -- and people will say we only won it because the coronavirus shortened the season, affected other teams, etc. That's our lot!

Given our horror run with injuries, it's more likely that we'd be the only team with deaths resulting from the virus.

AFL have been looking a possible scenarios since last week.

If they postpone the season then everyone can take stock and plan how to move forward.

This is uncharted waters for everyone.

Sadness, disappointment and fury as Australian Grand Prix cancelled

https://www.theage.com.au/sport/motorsport/australian-grand-prix-to-be-called-off-after-coronavirus-tests-reports-20200313-p549mr.html

"Six-time world champion Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes-AMG Petronas team said it sent a letter to the FIA and F1 requesting the cancellation and had commenced preparations to leave even before the decision was publicly announced.
...

BBC Sport also reported that former world champions Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen had taken matters into their own hands and flown out of Australia on Thursday night.

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews had earlier declared before the cancellation on Friday that if the grand prix went ahead, it would be without fans."

If a game goes ahead without a crowd, can the TV add an audience track like sitcoms do with fake audience laugh tracks? Be like watching us play in Perth everytime we kick a goal, complete silence.

Personally, I think the MCG is more worried about fans stealing the toilet paper.

Playing with no spectators would be akin to playing on the moon - no atmosphere...

Would be interesting to see how players and umpires react to no crowd noise... will players be lifted without the Collingwood chant, will umpires make better calls without the influence of the home crowd (I think not).

I think we definitely need a laugh track.
