The AFL should allow clubs to wait until the eve or even the day of a match to name sides. Going to be an outcry when a club gets fined because a critical player like a ruck does not come up after a 4 day break and travel and needs to be replaced by a player not named as emergency.

MCG yesterday got official notice from AFL that the AFL will not return to MCG in 2020.
Over the week end and this coming week the grounds staff will be getting permission to start to prepare the ground to cricket mode.
Was having a walk around the MCG this morning they are starting to removing the paint work on the ground. It looked like the AFL logo on the members wing will be the first paint work to be removed.

Of course they do. They don't want you for your kicking and marking skills.

Source? If there’s no footy, there’s no cricket. Certainly won’t be letting in hoards of international players.

Cricket doesn’t need crowds.

What is your source? In the whole of Queensland, there are 11 active cases. 3 new cases today and, including those 3, a total of 6 in the entire State in the last week.

^^^ there were 3 young women who lied on their documents about their travels when returning to Brisbane from a trip to Melbourne where they hosted a large party (that received huge fines). They were back in State (southern side of Brisbane) for 8 days going about their business before returning positive COVID-19 tests. This led to a contact tracing scramble trying to determine where they'd been and advice that any person in those locations be tested immediately. One of the girls was initially uncooperative with Police and wouldn't reveal her movements.

There have been 2 confirmed new cases with direct links to this group (one a family member and another a diner at a restaurant they visited) and zero new cases for the last 2 days. A school where one worked has been shut down.

There is concern about this becoming a potential cluster, but we are not at that point yet - the next week will be telling. The fact there have been no new cases in the last couple days is comforting.

Borders to NSW, ACT being closed today and Vic already closed are measures to keep Qld socially distant from probable hotspots.
