Tim Lame has always been biased against Collingwood
However Eddie should not have been calling Collingwood games.
Ex players coaches officials from all clubs should not call their teams

The problem with what Tim Lane is saying is the he thinks Eddie would be worse than every other commentator. Each one supports a team and could be accused of bias. It is more about a personal view he has of Eddie than any moral high ground

Exactly mate, it’s atrocious how he singled out Eddie, and how Caroline Wilson and many other key media figures piled on Eddie at the time too. Especially Caro. I remember the shit Eddie (and the club and us) had to endure at the time. |

Well it Happens all the Time now with Ex-Players Calling there Old team Games and Board Members calling there Team Games

The guy was a Carlton loving cretin.

Yes, Lane was/is biased as he is a mad Carlton supporter, but I suppose he would say he didn't hold any official positions with Carlton, unlike Eddie who was and is our President.

They are both hypocrites.
Their blatant hatred towards Collingwood and in particular Nathan Buckley was evident in their comments during games. Walls was far worse than Lane.
And then their favouritism towards Carlton and Chris Judd was just as bad.

This is true. But Eddie stopped calling Collingwood games from this time.

Fair point Dave, I'd forgotten about that. However I think Riccuto is only doing special comments nowadays, but there's a double standard there no doubt.

Spot on, and it sounded awkward when we was encouraging and celebrating good play by the opposition.
Ex-players aren't much better re: bias.
Professional commentators typically are the best, although they also occasionally show bias. |
