Who's been cut? I'm wondering if losing Hocking will hurt us, he was pretty popular with the players.

Brad Gotch was also stood down.

He will be a big loss IMO. It was no coincidence that the change in our fortunes occured when he and Longmuir arrived at Magpieland.

With Hocking and now Gotch gone there is a considerable loss of wisdom and experience. It's sad to see.

^ All clubs were bloated.

It's too much when you have 26 staff on match day to deal with 22 players. Way too much being wasted on salaries and superannuation.

Few others I would of got rid of before Hocking.

Think that is a Mistake by the Club

I’m not so sure: if you can afford it then why not? This isn’t the 1960’s where the coach is expected to do everything. Perhaps we should have kept Hocking and sacked Buckley😉

The tigers had to let go the Godfather of tigerland, Neil Balme i have heard, i know he was loved there by players, inspired the team, and their flags. All teams have had cutbacks, we r not alone here, far from it. Surprised

^ Haven't seen anything to suggest Balme has been stood down by Richmond.

But if it's a mistake, then the mistake was made long ago. He'd already been "demoted" to VFL coach, where he'd have little contact with senior players. (Rivers has been let go by N. Melbourne too.) It makes sense to be saving on your VFL coach when there's no VFL.

Balme's still at the club, he just can't attend games due to limits on the number of staff due to social distancing.

If Caro confirmed it, it's clearly false. Razz
