I was about to say that - but you have said it first. I think we should establish a VPT sub-committee to determine thread naming conventions. I think the sub-committee should be you, David, wpt, Stui and TP. Let me know how it all works out. |

Of course you have all your hair. Did the missus weave it into a rug for you or do you keep in in a ziplock bag?
How does the saying go, I'm not going bald I'm just washing more of my face lately.
I'm happy to participate in the VPT thread naming sub committee provided it's clearly understood there will be no new threads until we agree on the new conventions. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Some shenanigans afoot?

Personally, I see no reason not to take Andrews at his word about what happened, and thought from the beginning that the Liberal Party conspiracy theories about his injury seemed desperate and ridiculous. But if Andrews has nothing to hide, he’s certainly doing a sterling job of making it seem like he does.
(Also, could Faine be any more of a transparent Labor sycophant/booster? When you’re getting handpicked by the government to shape their message, that should be a sure sign that your journalistic integrity is imperiled. He should have said no on principle.) _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

as far as politicians go, he seems pretty honest to me, i dont agree with everything he does, but IMO he actually cares, cant say that for all of them. as for his fall, i dont really care what happened. i personally think all politicians are overpaid and underworked, but hes still entitled to sick leave, AND his privacy.
as for the journo pulling the piece, i reckon a lot of journos are right down there with the lowest of the lowest politicians, im sure he wanted a juicy detail. _________________ You cant fix stupid, turns out you cant quarantine it either! |

I think it's quite the opposite – Andrews clearly intended to use Faine as a mouthpiece to get across his preferred narrative without any awkward questions (why, exactly?), and the ABC pulled the piece because they realised their editorial independence (or perception thereof) was being compromised. The irony in all this is that I hadn't contemplated up until now the possibility that there might have been something suspicious about his fall, and had dismissed the Liberals' "questions" as obnoxious muckraking; with that oddly staged video being posted and now the story behind this piece coming out, I'm starting to wonder if there is something being hidden after all. _________________ All watched over by machines of loving grace |

Something else I read, when they got him to the hospital after the initial examination they wanted to do a helicopter transfer to the Alfred, Dan said No to that out of concern for how it would look and got a road ambulance transfer instead which apparently hurt like hell and took over an hour.
So that's a clear case for mine of ignoring specialist health advice because you're more concerned with other people's perceptions. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Jon Faine is a paid member of the Victorian government so don't blame any media outlet not wanting to run such an obvious puff piece.
But the Twitter video was a bit of a joke given the initial reports were he went to Peninsula Private for precautionary X-rays, AV didn't see the case as a priority given information given by Cath and yet now he claims that he and Cath thought he was going to die... |

WPT asked:
How is Jon Faine a paid member of the Victorian Government?
What is his employment? _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Before it was pulled, the article had been expected to run with a line at the bottom declaring Faine’s work with the government. |

There are two clear facts here:
Fact one: Jon Faine is not an employee of the government
Fact two: Eddiesmith is caught lying again _________________ “I even went as far as becoming a Southern Baptist until I realised they didn’t keep ‘em under long enough” Kinky Friedman |

Nah, the only clear fact here is that WPT is utterly biased and his overly simplified statements have the same resemblance to the truth as a CCP press release. _________________ Every dead body on Mt Everest was once a highly motivated person, so maybe just calm the **** down. |

Fact- Jon Faine does paid work on behalf of the Victorian government, much like some of the biggest supporters of the Victorian government on Twitter have since been revealed to be paid to support the Government.
Fact- Even the ABC felt that Faine was too obviously tied to the Victorian government by his paid roles there to be considered to even meet their very low standards of journalistic integrity. |
